Automatic ‘enhancements’ are disastrous.

I recently moved from the iPhone X to IPhone 13 (just the regular 13). The camera itself is the best I’ve ever used. The software edits that are automatically applied to each photo are absolutely awful. My main complaint is I should be able to get the photo I take. Instead, I take a photo and the camera decides that it knows what I want better than I do, automatically applying a bunch of ‘enhancements’. These include but are not limited to: brightness, highlights, contrast, and vibrance/saturation. It makes every photo, especially those including people, looking like it was edited by a first semester photography student who just learned about hdr. The real kicker, this ‘feature’ cannot be turned off on the standard iPhone 13. I’ve heavily considered returning my phone and I’m still undecided.

Note: this is separate from the color science profiles that you choose when setting up the camera. That is an amazing feature, the benefits of which I will ne’er be able to enjoy without an update fixing the automatic editing of the photos. If I do keep this photo I will it be using the Apple camera app.

Not bad, but still a few problems, not the camera app though, the actual camera

I used to have an IPhone X and it was pretty great. It took really good photos and I was pretty happy about it. Now I have the IPhone 14 and I’m REALLY happy about it with all the new features including cinematic mode, my favorite. But there is just one tiny but I absolutely hate. How the iPhone 14 has the 12mp and the iPhone 14 Pro has 3 times that. WOULD IT HURT TO MOVE IT UP TO 24MP AT LEAST. Well now it’s too late anyway. One more thing about the camera mp is that why can’t you zoom 2x on the iPhone 14 but you can on the iPhone 15. You could just literally add a button that says 2x. And one more problem I encountered was the brightness. Whenever I try to take low light photos it is really, really good. But when I try to take pictures that are low light but want it to look like that, for example A PERSON WATCHING THE ECLIPSE AND TRYING TO TAKE A PHOTO OF HOW DARK IT IS BUT IT TURNS OUT TO BE REALLY BRIGHT, you should add a button where you can press it so it can be for real like how much light is actually there, and I’m not talking about the night mode thingy. I know making the base models bad makes people buy the pro models I get it but at least put some work into the base and plus or mini whatever models. I’m rating 5 stars because I’m complaining about the camera not the camera app. The camera app is AMAZING as always.

Great app!😊😊

I love the app because there is no adds, no Wi-Fi needed and many more reasons! I lot of other apps that involve taking your picture, have backgrounds and frames and stuff like that. This is a classic! Sometimes it’s hard to record based on what you are recording or the situation. The noise isn’t the best either. Only because it sounds different and whenever you move the camera it makes the sound that you hear when your in a wind storm or something. I’m just saying the problems but otherwise the app is amazing. Usually it’s one of the first apps you have, but this is for anyone who deleted it and didn’t mean to delete it or something and they want to get it back. My favorite mode is slow-mo. It’s funny and fun to use. The only problem about slow-mo is that at the beginning and end, for a split second it’s normal if not fast. I also like how you can change the lighting. If you need a picture app I really recommend it. Thanks for reading!
