Dad wears his hearing aids so it’s a win!
It took years to convince my dad to get hearing aids, but my husband and I finally did it. We went to a doctor who was more concerned about the price range my dad was willing to spend so we left. We then went to Costco and for a perfect match, ear doctor and pair of hearing aids. What a difference.
The app is great! I have it on my phone, since my dad still won’t get a smart phone, and when he comes over I adjust it as needed. It is very easy to navigate and to adjust how my dad hears. The only thing that frustrates me is there is no “save” feature when I’m done adjusting his hearing aids. It seems every time he comes over I have to readjust them. Otherwise he really seems to like wearing his hearing aids. Thank goodness!
Very basic. Completely inadequate.
I’m a retired software developer and I would never release software that is this poor. My mother has Costco Signature 7 hearing aids. First I had to research who manufactured the hearing aids myself as they are not listed in the app. Once I established Bluetooth connection, available function is minimal. All I could do was volume up and volume down for both hearing aids at the same time. Could not adjust hearing aids separately. App shows bass and treble adjustment available. I did not try that. It’s easier to push the buttons on the hearing aids than it is to use the volume up/down “Slider” in the app. If the hearing aid has 15 levels of volume, then the app should show numbers one through 15 so you can match the hearing aid volume exactly as if you were pushing buttons directly on the hearing aid. This app has not been updated in a year. I’d say that’s a clear enough indication that nobody’s working to improve it. I will delete the app after I write this. Almost no instructions on how to use the app provided. I had to figure it out myself and this would be a nightmare for anyone who is not tech savvy. Bottom line: unacceptable. If you like playing with these apps you might be able to get some basic use out of it. Disappointing.
Excellent app. Works very well. The best way to set up the app is to scan the barcode. If you set it up manually you will not get all the functions that you get when you scan it. For those who are concerned about the app not working with your Bluetooth in your car, it's very easy to simply disconnect your phone from the car with the press of a button and then your hearing aid App will work just fine. You will still receive calls on your phone, but they will not come over the speakers in your car. For those having trouble with the app only connecting to one hearing aid for the battery test, you simply need to delete the app and reinstall it again because what's happening is the Bluetooth portion of your phone isn't connecting to one or the other of your hearing aids. I've been using the app to control my hearing aids for the last six months and it works perfectly if you have everything set up correctly.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
