Description
DMV TestBuddy is the hub for drivers and the California DMV to collaborate on how to improve the driver license process.
This AI-based mobility platform collects data during a trip to provide objective insights on driver behavior. DMV TestBuddy is a key part of the modernization journey at the California DMV.
There is no cost associated with the use of this app and all information collected is strictly for the purposes of a DMV study.
If you have a driver license permit or plan to take a drive test soon, we need your help with this important study.

Not a test prep app
This was pitched as a guide to help study for DMV test but it's not that at all. It's just a driving tracking app. I don't mind the tracking but I'm looking for something to help me pass the test and this is not it, so don't waste your time if that's what you're looking for.
Note for DMV developers/UX: don't pitch this as a study guide. Be upfront and honest on the website about what it is and people won't be so angry. It feels like a bait and switch.
Does not work at all
It does not work. I expected it to show how my driving is now, but it asked many detailed information about me and showed nothing. The miles I drove is 0 miles or ‘-‘ miles so far. Useless and I even cannot find how to unsubscribe and get my information back from them.
Misleading advertisement
This app is being advertised on the California DMV website as an app to “help us research how technology can improve the drivers license testing process.” Once you login, this app asks for your location and health to be monitored in app, and there is no “drivers license testing process” whatsoever.
