The BEST for TV production

I love this app! I have purchased and used GoodReader and iAnnotate but neither comes close to Scriptation. The best attribute is that all notes, including highlights, drawings, photos and voice notes, come across to the next collated script with a touch of a button. I used to have to copy and paste the note. It even gives you a list of what has changed in your notes that doesn’t fit the script anymore. So if you highlighted a passage, and the passage changed, it tells you. Brilliant! Now scripts and schedules can be kept in the cloud so you can read them on the computer or iPhone and make notes and it syncs notes across all those platforms. I push all my productions to go paperless and now this app makes it easy to convert people to go paperless.Technical support is amazing! All my questions are answered quickly and all suggestions are taken into consideration in order to make the app better.

Scriptation changed the game for digital script management by figuring out how to incorporate revisions into a file without losing your notes. That was HUGELY innovative and there only reason why I was able to go digital on set. Note transfer between revisions was a good enough reason to put up with the other glitchy things about using it in 2019. But now it is frustrating to use in the exact same ways it was frustrating to use 5 years ago. But costs more. Years later, the same glitches still exist and haven't improved at all. Sure they've added new AI features I don't need but all I want is to be able to make a text note, resize it, and then, if I have to edit the note, not LOSING the resize. I want it to work seamlessly on my ipad and my desktop. I want a Stamp in the shape of a CAMERA for making overheads in the app. I want it to search my handwritten notes. I want to be able to use my stylus to select a section of handwritten notes I want to move or resize. Good notes has all this functionality. It's a breeze to use and it's annoying to know that's all possible but Scriptation has chosen to remain clunky and keeps raising it's SUBSCRIPTION PRICE every year! Even in the year our whole industry was on strike. I'd LOVE to be able to turn my handwritten notes to text blocks. Scriptation, I see everyone singing your praises in these 5 star reviews but you should know what all the directors I know are complaining about behind your back. Please clean up the basic functions of making notes on scripts.

Scriptation saves me so much time!

Currently I am on episodic, and we get countless colored one liners and script pages. Scriptation saves me so much time transferring all of my notes from one color to the next . To have the ability to thoroughly break down a script , Whether it be for television or film and be able to instantly transfer it every time there is an update is amazing. I also create folders from my episodes and store my PDFs whether I create them or whether they’re sent to me in that file and I have everything all together on my iPad and not have to carry around a 3 inch notebook is a beautiful thing. On the information page we could use a detailed one or two sentence explanation to share with our first 80s and production managers as to how to send the digital files so that they are fully accessible on Scriptation.

I can’t recommend this app enough - you purists can keep you binders and pages with smeared pencil marks and highlighted notes that make your script look like a manic third grader - or you can welcome in the new age of film organization.
