While I applaud app developers who are trying to improve their app, this recent update took two steps backwards. The app fails to recognize any stations near me and can’t even give me a regular train schedule. It can’t find Cais do Sodre! And why is the first input ask for “Destination” but when I type in it switches to departure? The new UX is terrible. The old app was poor in terms of UX but at least it worked!

I live in Portugal and ride CP from time to time, and often use the app to book. This review is about the app, not the train experience. (iPhone 13 Pro w/ iOS16)App works properly for booking. The UI is well-designed. You will get prices for both 1st and 2nd class in your search results (CP website does not, and only provides the price for the class of service you searched for.) App quickly displays all options for a given route and shows travel time for each in the list of results. You can click a specific train and see where it stops. Ticketing is straightforward, though a little laborious with all the info they require.The app may or may not function w Apple Wallet, idk because I don't care about that. The ticket displays in the app which you can show the personnel to scan. Don't be deterred from getting this app even if you're just visiting Portugal and may never use it again. It's also good just to quickly see your options - you can purchase at the station from an attendant very easily. The app works well - disregard all the haters here.(And yes, you cannot buy a ticket within 15 mins of departure. That is not an app failure; that is a silly CP policy that they should change.)

So many silly reviews bash this app because it doesn't work with Apple wallet. That's true but it doesn't diminish the apps overall utility as tickets are easily available in the app. The app does what it should - you can find trains easily, see time tables, buy and see your tickets. It interfaces well with the website so tickets purchased on the site appear in the app.

This update took something perfect and ruined it. Completely. The old app worked perfectly. This new update reverted us to something from 20 years ago or more. It does not work. The layout is awful. I can’t purchase any tickets because the putting to click in order to add the data for passengers does not work. The button to proceed to purchase does not work. Typing out the station name does not work. Can you please just go back to the original app? Why did you decide to ruin this?
