I feel my blood sugars are doing much better since I’ve been using the Happy Bob app. It’s encouraging to see the rankings and numbers fall compared to other people dealing with the same issues and to see their fluctuations also! My doctor said I should strive to be 70% in range. I’ve been in the 90% in range since starting this app three weeks ago. Still not perfect… Never will be… That’s the nature of the disease. Type 1 50 years this month! Healthy and well.

I actually like this app. It reminds me to check my sugar. I like getting updates regularly. I just wish there was some sort of reward for reaching your goal. Like I wan to be exited that I was in range all day. I think like some rewards such as getting to unlock a new character for a day. Or something like that. Mainly because I don’t want to pay 5 bucks per month just to get new personality’s because I honestly wouldn’t use the other features of the subscription. It’s kinda a steep price to learn more about your health anyway.

I cannot explain how much I love this app!!! You can tell that it was created by people who have real experience and understanding of what living with diabetes is like. I feel encouraged when my BG is both in and out of range and Bob’s comments about my blood sugar always make me smile, no matter how many times I see them. I’ve lived with T1D for 17 years and this honestly is one of my favorite management tools I’ve used.

After downloading this app (on the recommendation of a friend) I was very excited to show it to my 8 year old type 1 diabetic daughter. At first she was overjoyed by the colors, fun choices of different faces and voices, and to hear fun comments with each BG test value. However, after 15 mins of using it we deleted it without regret. This app almost made my daughter cry by repeatedly telling her how “bad she was at taking care of herself” or how “she obviously doesn’t care about herself enough to stay in her target”. Keeping an 8 year old in their BG target range all day long is dang near impossible. This app may be fun for older teenagers or young adults but for young kids, save yourself from needing to comfort your child and do not download!!!!!
