Start with a simple list. Make it your own with custom workflows, time tracking, distraction blocking, Apple Reminders sync, and a little help from Siri.
Keep your day clear and your projects moving.
Tasks brings your to-dos, reminders, and shared projects together in one place. Plan a busy week, organize a trip, or take a project from first idea to finished. Start with a simple list and add the structure you need as you go.
CAPTURE IT WHILE IT'S ON YOUR MIND
Type “Send the report tomorrow at 3pm” and accept the suggested date and time. Tasks recognizes dates, repeats, priorities, and locations as you type. Add tasks with Siri, save something from another app, or turn an email into a task with the original message attached.
SEE WHAT'S NEXT, AND WHAT'S MOVING
Switch between lists and Kanban boards. Give each project its own stages, such as Planned, In Progress, and Waiting, so you can see where things stand. Break bigger tasks into subtasks, add tags and priorities, and use Smart Lists to bring the right work together across projects.
KEEP THE DETAILS WITH THE TASK
Add notes, links, images, PDFs, and emails so you have what you need when it's time to act. Customize each project's fields and keep conversations in comments. A task can hold the whole story, from the first brief to the final decision.
MAKE TIME FOR FOCUSED WORK
Start a timer on a task and see where your time goes. On iPhone and iPad, block distracting apps while you work. Follow your session from a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and, on supported iPhones, the Dynamic Island.
REMINDERS THAT FIT REAL LIFE
Set reminders for a date, a time, or when you arrive at or leave a place. Repeat tasks on a schedule or a set time after you finish them, ideal for routines that don't always happen on the same day. Connect Apple Reminders to keep your existing lists in sync.
SHARE THE WORK, KEEP EVERYONE IN THE LOOP
Plan with your partner, family, or team. Share a project, assign tasks, and use comments and @mentions to keep decisions with the work. Only the person sharing needs Tasks Plus; the people you invite can collaborate for free.
You can bring your AI assistant into the project too. Connect a compatible assistant through MCP to help create and update tasks, leave comments, and track time. You choose which projects it can access and can revoke access at any time.
FEEL AT HOME ON YOUR APPLE DEVICES
Use Tasks on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. Keep tasks close with widgets, capture ideas from your wrist, and build everyday automations with Siri and Shortcuts. Sync lets you pick up where you left off on another device.
Make Tasks feel like yours with Classic, Mono, and Paper themes, your choice of heading and body fonts, and light or dark mode. Dynamic Type and VoiceOver support help you work comfortably.

Better than most digital to do lists that I’ve ever worked with, if not all of them. I’ve tried setting up to do list systems using Todoist, Evernote, Milanote, Tot, Sidenote, Google Docs, Keep, Tasks & Sheets, Excel, Trello, Notion, Scrap Paper, Reminders, & many more virtual software projects - none of which ever worked better than my physical notebook…. That is….Until this freaky app caught my normally jaded eyes.I’m actually happy to open Tasks anytime a new to-do comes to mind, regardless of whether I’m using my Macbook, Phone, or iPad. They’re all pleasant to use & the cross-device sync is even faster & more reliable than iCloud Notes. I hate writing reviews but Jesus took the wheel here & so I’m reporting to bring the good news. Tasks is the last one I’ll ever need after decades of subpar software. Don’t you want to declutter & shelve your action items using just ONE APP ALONE?!? This is it, boys - you asked and they delivered with frictionless simplicity & smooth ux, Tasks - the FINAL LIST FROM YOUR FINGER LICKIN FANTASY 😋😚

I actually was causally walking back home when I got notified about your review and honestly it is why I love doing what I do and brought a tear to my eye! Really glad Tasks clicked for you and checks all of your boxes. I can’t wait to ship the exciting feature and updates and keep blowing you away and hope to keep your jaded eyes fixated on my app! Thank you for making my day, hope you have a productive time and have fun staying organized!Regards, Mustata
Glitchy and Touchy App with False Advertising
MalPal403
I'm a bit disappointed by the top reviews that were highlighted and unless I'm missing something, they are misleading. This app was free but I couldnt do anything without paying over $20 for an individual subscription, for starters. I understand if there are cool features to put that behind a paywall, but to even use it at all I had to pay. So far, this app doesnt seem much different than the reminders app. It's also very glitchy and touchy with what you put in your lists. For example, when you add a task and then set a due date, if you had a typo in the task and go to fix it, then the date you set clears. I also tried to set a task on a custom schedule where it would list every first Tuesday of the month. While it let me click to do that in the custom settings, when I hit done the button reset to weekly on it's own and I couldnt do it. It's also weird because if you have something that is on a monthly schedule, if you hit done then it never moves to the done tab. It stays in your to do. I wish it would move over to done until the first of the next month and then it would reset. I wanted to use this to help me remember my monthly bills, but I could have just done this for free with the reminders app because it doesnt offer anything like what i mentioned that would make it unique. I do like that it allows you to make subtasks which is really nice. However, if that's the only difference in this application than using the reminders, then just save your money. Maybe my mind will change the more I use it, but as of now, I am wishing I didnt purchase this.
Two Projects for a Trial
_itastalion
The title speaks for itself. The app: it’s functions, features, custom attributes are well thought out and perform as desired. That’s why it gets 2 stars. It’s nothing special per any other Tasks app except for how colorful it is. I will say similar yet better is the amount of colors that can be assigned per a project is wonderfully surprising vs. the native Reminders app. Here’s the rub — Per the title, only two (2) projects and a third project pulls up the window pane to purchase the app and make it licensed. I think a trial for two projects is absurd. Give us at least 5 before requiring purchase. It just make me want to go back and use the Reminders app especially after looking at your pricing. Talk about greedy. If you’re going to charge a yearly fee it better come with new features monthly instead of additional users — this likely doesn’t help the average consumer. Ever heard of a tiered pricing structure for enabling features or added bonuses or a one time fee for X something or another? You’re app is just too expensive for what you get. I’ll go back to Reminders or another app called TickTick is also free regardless the amount of projects or tasks you add.
Goals and Projects

I got the tasks app a few years ago. I appreciate that you can make multiple projects, coordinate or collaborate with others, and add additional steps between a “to do” and “done”. I love that the app will automatically move completed tasks into the “done” section and that you can move them back if needed. Recommendations: Give the option to have a task that needs to be repeated to stay in done section when selected as opposed to going back to the to do section. Add a section that shows all that can be done on the app in depth. I see the main page that says what we can do but it does not explain further how to access or start those things. I would purchase this app again as a new user. As a returning user, the price is too high. (Grace in that I have not used all the functions of the application to truly be aware of its value. Thank you for creating this application. It is perfect for me.
Tasks now comes in themes. Give the app a new look and new fonts, drop emails straight onto your board, and mention people in comments.
New in Tasks 5.3:
- Pick a theme in Settings: Classic, Mono with true black on OLED screens, or Paper with handwritten headings, paper grain and hand-drawn checkboxes. Each comes in light and dark.
- Choose fonts for headings and body text: Rounded, Sans, Serif, Mono, or the theme's own
- Drop emails, images and PDFs onto a card to attach them, or between cards to create a new task
- Read attached emails right inside Tasks
- Take a photo with the camera and attach it to a task
- Mention people in comments with @ so they get notified
- Repeat tasks every few minutes or hours, and see the next due date when you complete a repeating task, with its subtasks reset
- Rely on reminders that arrive on time, even with many repeating tasks
- Choose how long voice input waits through a pause in Accessibility settings, or keep it listening until you tap
- Use Apple Watch with iCloud projects without signing in, and add tasks from the complication again
- See why a card can't be dropped where you're dragging it, and why a board is empty, and show columns again when they're all hidden
- Enjoy tag colors that are more distinct and easier to read in light and dark mode
- Get started with a new personalized setup that builds a board like your own
- Download a smaller app, about a quarter lighter on iPhone
- Get fixes for the Mac window remembering its size and position, the Mac app jumping to the front when syncing, attachment names after syncing, tags and attachments on moved tasks, Live Activity clipping, and line breaks in card titles
If you're enjoying Tasks, leaving a review would mean the world to me and help more people discover the app.
If you have any feedback or run into any issues, please write to me at tasks@msquarelabs.com. I'd love to hear what you think.
Stay productive, and thanks for reading!
