Bicycle Health is a digital health start-up that offers online Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) for individuals with Opioid Use Disorder.
The Opioid Epidemic is a systemic problem - millions of Americans are physically dependent on Opioids but only 10% of Americans have access to treatment. Bicycle Health is addressing this gap by offering personalized, affordable, and confidential treatment with the goal of helping individuals take back control of their lives.
What we provide
Medication Management: A licensed provider will perform a via video call assessment and prescribe Buprenorphine - Naloxone, if appropriate and help taper it down over time.
Counseling: Patients often have co-occurring depression, anxiety, trauma, etc. Our mental health providers have 1-1 video calls with patients to support their behavioral health needs.
Support Groups: Our free Support Groups offer a platform for patients to share their journeys with others, support others, and reflect on ways to achieve emotional growth.
Care Coordination: Through constant communication, our health coaches help patients navigate treatment and life changes as a partner, mentor, and support system.
Our Difference:
We don’t take a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Our philosophy is centered around harm reduction - we cater care plans to meet each patient at their point of need.
Same day appointments. Patients can start our program as soon as they are ready.
We outreach to your patients. Just call, text, or email us if a patient or someone you know is in need of treatment. We will take care of the rest.
Easy access. Patients can reach their doctor anytime, anywhere via text, chat, email, video, or phone and get a response within minutes.
Affordable care. We accept United, Medicare, Cigna, Aetna, and Blue Shield of California (PPO). We also offer a self pay rate of $199/month.
Progress and Outcomes: We have been live since Jan 2019, with positive outcomes:
-2,000+ patients served across the U.S. We are launching in new states weekly - check with us to see if we are available in your region!
-85% abstinence in drug use
-60% improvement in motivation, depression, and patient stress.
Our Technology:
The Bicycle Health mobile application is the primary treatment portal for our patients. Our patients can use our application to conduct video visits with their provider, view and reschedule upcoming appointments, view prescriptions and request refills, access treatment documents, submit toxicology screens, modify billing preferences, and communicate with our care team via secure messaging.

This app is pretty good but has its pros and cons like everything else… it is great because they are friendly and help but also it costs a lot. It’s $200 a month without insurance, I have Kaiser so I have to pay $200. There have been some times where no one would help me when it was an emergency. But other times they helped immediately and were great. Right now, I have a problem because I had my appointment with my counselor and that’s when they send your medication to the pharmacy. My appointment was Friday night at 5:40 and pharmacies close at 6… my pharmacy is closed for the weekend and I’ve taken my last film of medication today (Saturday) I’ve been trying to contact them for hours for help and no one has responded and they say they have people on weekends for emergencies but obviously no one cares to help me right now. You could relapse if you withdrawal and they don’t care that I will withdrawal without my medication. It’s very frustrating considering you pay a lot just to talk to someone once a month and they can’t help you when you have an emergency. However the experience I have had with them has been positive but moments like these are why I’m always stressed. You don’t know if they will help or ignore.
Love the app, as long as you have insurance.

So after my zoom psychiatrist quit abruptly and I was no longer able to get my suboxone care from her I was freaking out- I was afraid of withdrawl as I’ve been on it for a few years and I have a lot on the line as a mom of 2- I also have severe anxiety of doctors offices and I have trouble making in person appointments as I always have my children and never have care for them so going to those types of appointments with them isn’t ideal. So after lots of research I found this app, I thought it would be too good to be true as in the past I had lots of doctors make things seem simple at first and then they would make it difficult, cancel my apts even tho I was running out of meds, make me do drug tests within that day aka drop everything and go into the office immediately at times I was at work or with my kids- i constantly had anxiety about if I would have my medication or not each month. Anyway, this app has been easy to use and great. Love the doctor I see monthly too. Appointments are quick, drug tests are quick to do, only tough thing is if you don’t have insrurnace to cover appointments and medication it can cost you like $400 a month in total. I do wish after being a consistent patient they had options to do scripts for 3 month increments to save money on monthly appt meetings but it is what it is. I paid out of pocket for a year and luckily I now have insurance so it’s been free and my meds have been free so it’s been so amazing to get the care I need. They don’t push me to get off suboxone and don’t force me to take more meds. I feel like doctors either force u to get off and make u feel like a bad person or they are the type to want you to be hooked and try to get you to take more and more meds. My doctor isn’t like that she lets me lead and tells me she’s ready when I am. I don’t feel judged by her. She’s amazing. Tara iacono is an amazing PA.

I’ve used this app for 7 months now, the doctor was nice and sent my prescriptions in every time, but when my insurance expired, I had to self pay for the treatment and the pharmacy. The only thing is, there’s no communication in the app, they just out of the blue kicked me out of their system and threw a $500 and something dollar bill on me, and told me I’d have to pay $199, make payment arrangements on the current balance, and start all over again, I had no knowledge of the balance, no one called, emailed me or anything, I told them that I was having withdrawals, and she messaged me back telling me to call 911 or go to the ER for help, I ask if I was to pay the $199 the same day can I get an doctor appointment the same day, and of course she tried to schedule me a whole week away AFTER taking the payment if I would have paid, so I told her never mind and ended up going to another provider that I ran across on social media. $99 dollars same day online doctor visit and same day pharmacy pickup, and it’s a whole lot better than this, they only care about money and not the patients!
Good app and CA Dr.s are great…,but

The app was good and I have been a patient for about 21/2-3 years now. Then just recently they started requiring you do, minimum of 1hour, of their support groups. Even if you do N.A., celebrate recovery, smart rec., etc. on your own, they still make you do 60 min between your Dr appointments. The meetings are all the time and different style ones too which isn’t the issue, my problem is I can’t say H*****e or anything like M******e pills and can only say D.O.C. for drug of choice. And I had a problem using needles just as much as my DOC so I don’t share ever now. They also don’t take my insurance and never will most likely but they started in CA which blows my ideas into paintings, oops don’t call 911 on me again or give my info to other clients it was a slip of my words and would never write/type something like that in a review on purpose.
