Developers pay attention
It would appear the developers are not using the app nor have adequately tested it. Here are two issues that need fixing: 1) The app crashes constantly while in use. After scanning in at the start of the journey it is anyone’s guess whether you will be able to scan again during your journey or when scanning out at end. The app crashes, won’t restart, and the only fix seems to be rebooting my phone and hoping the app will start after a complete reboot. 2) Why can’t used tickets mark themselves as used when you scan out at either Paddington or Heathrow? Why does the user have to manually mark the ticket as used? These should both be simple to fix.
internet connxn needed to work; daft
Forgive me, but I purchased tkts for myself and my son while in USA. Worked just fine after I registered. Good. Arrive Heathrow, like so MANY people I imagine, and go to pass through with my tkt on app...and it “crashes”. Not really, as I determined, just... won’t open without internet. Hmm. Thank for a minute... if I don’t live in UK, and... I’m your customer, and... I don’t have data roaming turned on, or can’t get it yet, or... name any *very possible* customer scenario in which they don’t have a connxn at the time of entry into your system. (A) WHAT do I do? And... (B) how am I to know that is the issue? As a “normal” person (I have a tech background) how could I possibly know the app isn’t just FAILING. Oh that’s right, because it IS. Maybe just maybe you design it so the tkts cache offline... or... you can add them to Wallet... or at MINIMUM, have the offline app TELL the user they can’t use it that way? Like REALLY ANY INTERACTION other than what I experienced. Really NOT GOOD. Of course, yes, I joined WiFi on the train and was able to show e-tkt to the ticket scanner lady. BUT COME ON ALREADY. Cheers! Fix it. Have a lovely day!
Works fine much better than buying ticket
I travel from the states to LHR frequently. The app is easy to use and you can buy the tickets ahead of time and charge it to your credit card. Receipt goes to email and you can get it easily for expense reports.
The pass works just like electronic airline boarding passes. Arriving at LHR just scan it at the gates to heathrow express.
Much easier than fumbling with your credit card for a paper ticket. The time saved might save you from having to wait for the next train.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
