For those who have constant crashing when opening the app, delete it and reinstall it. That fixed the issue for me. The constant crashing was annoying, but as long as reinstalling fixed, I should be ok. Hope it doesn’t do it again.

They have been a difficult to work with in terms of red tape and unnecessary steps. Their technology also seems antiquated, freezes or doesn’t work often, and their money transfer takes 2-3 days longer than other banks. Even when you “schedule” it for a certain day, it doesn’t deposit until 1-3 days after that date. When trying to transfer money their system doesn’t let you see the full name of the accounts in the drop down menus. It also won’t let you plan the transfer into the next month, if you are trying to transfer on a Friday or have met the $5000 limit for the day and have to spread it out, because their system doesn’t let you pick a month. Their business credit card was pretty terrible as well. They took 5-days to verify a checking account when trying to add one to pay the balance. The technology was similarly archaic, minimal useful features like secure messaging, spend notifications, spending categories, etc. the formatting was off as well - not great on a lap top, but pretty horrible on a phone or tablet.

This app has been completely broken and unable to even open for months and the best they’ve got is “a fix is coming”? Last update 4 months ago. Really prioritizing customer experience. Especially great when they push you to stay a customer even when you leave the Austin area because “mobile banking and we’re in the co-op!” Well now mobile banking is broken and there’s no indication they actually mean to fix it. This combined with arbitrary limits on my own access to my own money at a shared branch (even though they claim “full access to your funds at any co-op location”) are the reason I’m leaving Velocity. I’m 37 years old I do not need my credit union parcelling out my own money to me like I’m a 16 year old with an allowance. Their arbitrary transaction limit at shared branches almost cost me my home purchase.

This used to be a reliable app. Now mobile deposit never works. Crashes phone. When you call Velocity they say it happens to everyone. Uninstall then reinstall the app. Velocity seems to think this is no big deal. I am seriously considering a bank switch due to their lack of concern for customers. Plus you should know that if you install Velocity credit card on this app and set up payments it DOES NOT allow you to ever edit those payments despite having an edit button. Velocity customer service says “oh that button never works.” WHAT??? So why offer a feature they are aware does not work? This credit union is not for you if you want reliable mobile banking service.
