From time to time, the Canary auto-mode switching feature may briefly access your GPS in order to have high confidence in your location. Battery life is very important to us and we do many things to ensure we use it sparingly. Please be aware that continued use of GPS services running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

The app and interface work fine. The indoor cameras are decent, picture quality could be better and other systems have a few more options than these do but I haven’t noticed a serious need for them.
The outside camera is junk. I haven’t had this thing a year yet and it’s already quirky. The battery doesn’t hold a charge, it won’t recharge. It pops on and off signal all the time. I have a wifi booster 20 feet away from the camera in a window and I’ve moved it as close as I possibly can but it still pops on and off WiFi. The outdoor camera does not have night mode like the inside cameras do. So what’s the point? No one trapes around outside of your house in broad daylight. The sensor on it is iffy. I have it set to the most sensitive and you still have to be 10 feet away for it to trigger. So it’s not very reliable unless you have the video up on your phone constantly and then all you are doing is draining that battery that is junk.
Let me know when you put more into the outdoor camera and make it better. Otherwise I’ll figure out how to set up and indoor camera facing outside, so it can have window glare.

Good for ad-hoc activity when you’re available. Useless for activity checking after the fact.
Like I said in the title, it’s completely useless to record actual activity in your home when there is a person and you can’t watch it live. Obviously people are not always in front of the camera. But if my camera notices a person and even notifies me of one why wouldn’t it continue recording after the movement? For like two minutes at least? And a minute leading up to it? There’s stuff happening outside the frame!?
Sometimes it switches modes when arriving home, most times it doesn't. So I always have to open the app when leaving and arriving at home. I usually don't have my hands free at these points in my day (nor is it why I bought the system in the first place).
Customer service told me to increase the geofence radius. Didn’t help.
I got home 10 minutes ago, am connected to WiFi, stood in front of the camera a while, went to have a wee, and just got another notification of a person at home when I reentered the kitchen...

I bought several of these and they work great at first then after first week devices started randomly going offline for no reason and ok , no big deal because i was still receiving notifications that device went offline. Now a month later the devices are going offline and either sending notifications up to 30 min later or currently now not sending me notifications on my phone in app AT ALL. How is that security?! total waste of money im feeling now ...and/or its a scam and things don't work right unless u also pay for monthly service.
Im very unhappy and if i could return them i would. Im going to look into that 2morrow.
What a disappointment. Oh ya and besides that issue they also go offline and when they were sending notifications it would send device back online notification b4 the offline one . Lol. And one device has never worked properly keeps unpairing from my device snd going offline. If i were you, whoever is reading this .... best spend your money on something that is actually RELIABLE
