ETA — most of what I initially said was inconsistent turned out to be user error on my part. (I didn’t understand that you could not use split modes throughout the entire house.) Bear that in mind when using! For example, we live in New England and quite often the temperatures can fluctuate quite a bit within one day, especially during certain seasons. So I’ll save you the trouble from digging through the instructions like I had to — ***You cannot use heat AND cooling at the same time in different zones.*** You’d have to shut off one and turn on the other. Aside from that, the system works great. I even find that the App gets us more accurate output over the remotes. Overall very happy with it. Just takes some getting used to / has a learning curve to operate to its full capabilities. When the app works, it’s great - but unfortunately I have to say that it is inconsistent at best. The times that the temperatures have either risen or dipped within my children’s rooms where I have wanted to modify the temperature settings in some way, the App seems to be glitchy or unavailable or showing the zones as in “standby” and I’m not able to override it or correct it except to physically go in the room and change it with the physical remote itself. Very frustrating, to say the least.

They tried to improve the interface. It's different, not better. It's not intuitive and clean it's just different so you have to relearn some of the layout. For example they slid down the "warming" text so it's not readily visible. I don't want clutter but information on what the heat pump is doing is EXACTLY what I want. If the fan is in Auto the app should tell me the speed. In fact since most have a variable speed compressors the app should tell us how hard the unit is running. The big push in the update seemed to be for scheduling. I had scheduling turned off because the official thermostat, the MHK2, would do it's own thing. As in not follow "the schedule". One persistent problem is the app and MHK2 do not mirror interfaces. I had to set a new temp in the MHK2 and it gives you a 'hold' option until a specific time. The app has 'hold until next event'. What? There's no common command??And I don't see 'Run Schedule' anywhere. I'm back to only using the MHK2 for adjustments and the app as a poor monitor. I had set the MHK2 to hold until 1145. I looked in the app it has an 'adjust hold' button. I selected it and 'extended the hold' until 1146. The heat pump just said 'nope' and turned off. It's off and has stayed off. The MHK2's hold disappeared even though the temp was 68 and had not reached the set temp of 69. Then it shut off. This dumb app still shows "hold until 1146" BUT it also shows the unit is off.

Update three weeks later. Have uninstalled all previous versions of Comfort on both phone and iPad and reinstalled 3.07. We are the simplest of systems w/ one head and one zone. 3.07 can still not do the simplest of scheduling-setting a warmer daytime temp and then a lower nighttime temp. Our most recent attempt anytime we set one, the software immediately changed the second to the same temperature. Then attempting to update the night time it automatically reset the daytime to the same temp. All of this is being done on a single mode, Heat. We had hoped for the more advanced ability to do this while the mode is set to Auto. Thousands of us are still waiting on you. Very disappointed.3.07 comments: trying to set a very simple schedule, with two set points. One to warm in the morning, one to allow cooling in the early evening. Function doesn’t work. Whenever I change the temperature for one set point it changes it for the other. And vice versa. Would also suggest that after making new settings for a set point you have a confirm or save button there is none at this point.3.05 comments: Basic functions like the plus and minus signs to increase or decrease temperature did not work at all. Important but basic menu items were not found where the very minimal literature said they should be. In the important Mode setting (Heat, Cool, Auto, off) the heat option was not even visible. This app was not ready for a release and should be an embarrassment to a quality name like Mitsubishi.

Connection Issues

I have been using the app for at least three years and it will occasionally lose the wifi connection and indicates one or more zones are offline. I can usually fix this simply by clicking on the zone or resetting the router. It’s not ideal, but fine and not necessarily unexpected with routers. More recently, the app has lost all connectively and gives me a no signal error. It also won’t identify or connect to any of my wireless channels even though previously connected. This is even after resetting the router multiple times and trying to connect to my 2.4 ghz channel and the other channels directly by typing in the network name and password. It just spins and does not connect.Each of my four zones are connected to Alexa and two continue to work only through Alexa, so something is connected even though the app says otherwise. It’s very frustrating since I like to check and adjust temps in each zone when I’m away.The system is way to expensive and WiFi connections are way too common to be experiencing problems like this, especially after a few years of use. I’m hesitant to delete the app and start over since it was incredibly hard to connect each unit to the app in the first place and I don’t want to lose the two WiFi connections I still have through Alexa.
