Works great as a baby monitor!

My husband and I were attempting to find a video camera baby monitor without paying over $100 (baby items are highly over priced, aren’t they?!). My husband found this camera, and after reading the reviews of people using it as a baby monitor we decided to give it a go. Boy does this thing work great! And for such a great price! The night vision is very clear and easy to see, while the monitor does not light up the room it is in and therefore the baby is undisturbed. The camera includes a motion sensor, and you are able to adjust the sensitivity so that you are notified every time your baby moves. You can also record and take pictures of the feed. In case you’re unable to run into the nursery right away, there is also a button you can press and hold so that you can talk to your baby and soothe them while you are busy. Multiple people can stream the feed, so both my husband and I can monitor our baby on each of our phones while he sleeps. The two slight downsides to this camera is that it requires a WiFi connection, and it is not battery operated (USB cord must be connected at all times). So if you take the camera on vacation with you, the vacation spot must have WiFi and an outlet in order for it to work (therefore it will not work in a camping scenario). Other than that, this camera is a perfect, budget friendly, camera to use as a baby monitor. I have recommended it to Luther parents who are happy with it as well. Highly recommended!

I did a lot of research, read a lot of reviews and testimonials and decided on this brand of camera to use as a baby monitor. That being said, I KNOW the intent of these cameras are not baby monitors- they’re security cameras! So their set up is quite different than a baby monitor would be. However, the night vision is incredible, you get a WIDE angle shot from wherever you station the camera, you can take pictures (and video if you have an SD card), you can log in and watch if you have a babysitter for the night, and you can adjust the alert settings to be notified when there are noises and/or movement in your child’s room. All things that we wanted and love!I do sleep with the camera pulled up on my app, and I keep it plugged it so it doesn’t die. I also keep my volume up so that if my phone does “fall asleep” or anything like that, if something were going on in my baby’s room I would wake up from the alert notifications! My son is also 18 months old- this is NOT something I would recommend to use with a newborn, because you need to have a much higher quality of sound and reliability of the video coming through without your phone falling asleep.So, there ya have it, folks!

I am currently using this camera and app for a baby monitor,as the Wi-Fi in our house causes disruption with regular baby monitors. As a baby monitor it is OK, except if I have a WiFi disruption. Are use the video option the entire time my baby is asleep. If I have a Wi-Fi description, the app doesn’t bring the video back up the way that it was. Also it automatically defaults to sound off. So my suggestion is that if there is a connection problem the app automatically puts you back the way you were when Wi-Fi is reestablished. I live in a bit of anxiety every night that I am going to wake up and the video is off. And I wouldn’t have known if my child was crying all night. Maybe I should choose a different camera and app, but I already purchased this one and I don’t really particularly want to choose a different one. Fortunately our Wi-Fi is pretty good, so this doesn’t happen often. However it does happen.

I have a couple pan tilt cameras from this company. I pay for yearly subscriptions for each camera. It’s more then I would like to spend, but my options are limited. I didn’t know about the price of the service when I acquired the cameras. The app is kinda glitchy. The cameras don’t always pic up motion. The video quality is sub par. But here I am 3 years later still using them. Things could be better but it’s what I have for now. My main request would be a fast forward option when reviewing footage. My other cameras have that option. If your the app developer and your reading this, please include the option in your next update. Thank you. -Max
