The official mobile ticketing app of BusPlus – a program of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
The BusPlus app lets you purchase and use intercity and commuter bus tickets instantly on your phone. Here’s how it works:

1. Plan a trip by selecting an origin, destination, and schedule
2. Choose the type of ticket and quantity
3. Create an account and link your credit/debit card to complete checkout
4. Activate your ticket and show it to the bus driver

An internet connection is required to purchase tickets, but you can use your ticket(s) offline. All personal information and payments are securely transmitted and stored.

Please contact for customer service assistance. Any comments or suggestions you may have are welcome. We are aware of problems with the scanning feature while adding new credit cards, and are working to correct this issue.

Bus Plus

At first there were a few minor issues, however they were fixed fairly quickly. As of now it has been easy and quite useful as I take the bus often. I no longer have to worry about making sure I have the correct amount of $$ on me.

Don’t Wa$te your money!

If you purchase either a weekly or monthly pass, it will not open up after a day. Early on when this app was only a couple days after old. I called PVTA customer service. They put me in touch with a superstar who never returned my call. There’s now 18 similar reviews and I see nothing on their website or twitter page. And drivers apparently haven’t been informed of this issue as you typically need to have a 2 min conversation explaining you purchased a pass and it won’t display. This is a rip-off and huge inconvenience for those who purchase passes and any passengers who must be held up because we’re explaining ourselves to the driver.

It does indicate the app supports Apple wallet. But there’s no option on the app allowing you to add passes to the wallet. If this feature was present, you wouldn’t have these reviews because anything in the wallet will open. Perhaps that’s where the glitch is? Maybe the app is operating based on that mechanism but the developer forgot to add the launch button?

Super convenient, no more looking for exact change

For years having to set aside exact change or obtain passes in advance was never convenient but there was no other option. The ability to buy tickets for immediate use on the app is huge.
