Shamefully Bad

Where to begin?
The glaring UX failures? The difficulty logging in? The possibility of incurring a $2000 fine by unlocking a bike 10 miles from you? The general difficulty of buying a pass. The impossibility of changing your payment method. In the UX team’s defense the engineering is equally poor. Random error messages. The database does not retain signin information. This is a total failure at the expense of the citizens and visitors of Los Angeles.

Used first time June 2022

To add a counterpoint to a lot of negative reviews, I had a good experience using the app and renting a bike. Downloaded app, created an account just with email and password, purchased a 1-ride pass within the app using Apple Pay / stored credit card on iOS, walked up to a dock, picked a bike, selected the corresponding number and unlocked the bike. After riding, redocked the bike which ended the trip. Worked pretty seamlessly and only spent about 2 minutes before being able to take a bike and ride.

Would like to see more electric bikes and more docking stations. Found myself in between docks when getting lunch and decided to just keep the bike rather than walk 6 blocks to park it and there’s no way to secure the bike unless you bring your own lock if doing that.
