I wish the app was better at refreshing

I actually love the functionality of this app. While maybe I would like if it did a bit more things, I totally understand the “play it safe” nature of this app, to keep some under qualified person from making big problems.

My main issue with the app is its refreshing. If you move away from the app for whatever reason, say to go to a text, reference some lyrics or a chart, it is extremely frustrating to get the app to reconnect/refresh. I end up force closing the app about 6-7 times, disconnecting/reconnecting to the console...

If not for those issues, I’d love the app, but this issues make it so frustrating.

Excellent FREE App

I am really liking the functionality of this app. It’s great that I can grant access to the monitor mixes coming out of our XR18 mixer without risking somebody in the band going out and jacking with the Main Mix! I have not experienced any drops, and I’ve only seen the normal/expected amount of latency.

I’m not looking for a “full featured mixer app”... The mixer manufacturer (Behringer) has that already... I’m the Lead Guitar player in a band that doesn’t regularly employ a dedicated sound engineer (for typical smaller gigs anyway). So I have to act as the “sound guy”. This app gives me the freedom to take a “fix it yourself” attitude when another band member asks for “more me” in his monitor. It frees me up to take care of the main mix (and my own monitor) without the chance of anyone else screwing up the main mix on accident.

Best part... the price is right, and much appreciated! This is a really great tool!

No main mix?

Why wouldn’t they give you the option of controlling the main mix?

Response to below.... fair enough. But a lot of us use only a couple of channels on the main mix and no monitor and occasionally need to do a minor adjustment of the main mix. Think guitar track one vocals track two. It would be nice to have an additional way to do these minor adjustments. You could’ve made it very clear to the user to not adjust the main mix via a warning prompt, password protect changing the main mix, etc. but eliminating functionality to prevent unintentional changes is unfortunate. Limited control possibilities is what could’ve been added rather than advising against it. The fact that you need multiple different apps on multiple different devices to control this hardware is not exactly what I’d consider user friendly.

MX-Q has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of monitor applications. In order to prevent unintentional changes to the main mix, this option was deliberately excluded. To get access to the Main-Mix please use the M32-Mix App on Tablet, or M32-Edit on the Laptop. Due to compact dimensions and limited control possibilities, we advise you not to use a Smartphone for controlling the Main-Mix. Nevertheless there are third-party Apps like "Mixing Station" you can use to control the Main-Mix via Smartphone.

If you want to have unlimited access to all functions (including monitoring) please use the M32-Mix-App. MXQ has a strictly reduced userinterface to provide keyfunctions for Monitor-Applications. Please consider that controlling the Main-Mix is a completely different application. Nevertheless there are some workarounds with MXQ that might fit your needs (e.g. send Mixbus to Main).
