Connectivity

I’m really liking the App and easy use of the menu. Connectivity between my I Phone and hearing devices when steaming music is very poor. My phone is located directly on my belt, so it’s only 2.5 feet apart from my devices no matter which side of my belt the phone is attached one ear piece always breaks up intermittedly. However in AI mode and i place my phone directly in front of my TV soundbar i can walk around my home anywhere and it stays connected to my ear pieces. Hopefully Starkey can improve connectivty with newer versions of the App. I have been with Starkey for over twenty years and i receive new hearing aids every three years. The evolution of all these devices is amazing! Keep up the good work.

Thank you for the feedback. The hearing aids use Low-energy-Bluetooth. I have found when the phone is on the hip, and I'm outside in the open, the connection will drop. If I place the phone higher up in my shirt pocket, it does a much better job.

App Drains Device Batteries

I sent in a review a few days ago but it did not get posted. I started using this app a few days ago with my new Genesis hearing aids. I have been using the Thrive app for nearly four years with Starkey Livios. In my opinion, Thrive is laid out better, but the biggest problem I have with this app is the fast battery drain on either the iPhone or the iPad. If the hearing aids are paired with either device, no matter how far apart they are from each other the battery on that device will drain down at least 50%, even when the app is off and the hearing aids are in the charger. I switched devices and paired them with the other device (only one device at a time is supported). The battery on the connected device drains quickly. This is a big problem, especially with smaller phones that have smaller batteries.

Update: I believe a recent app update has fixed the problem. Thank you. I changed my rating to 5 stars.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for the feedback. The battery drain on the Apple devices while connected to the hearing aids and app should not be a huge battery drain problem. Please ensure you are on the latest iOS. If you would like to email us from the My Starkey App we will reply with specific troubleshooting steps.

Mostly Good (updated)

The last firmware update fixed most of the bugs. Tap control is still a joke, only works when I don’t want it to, such as pulling a garment over one of my hearing aids. Tapping doesn’t actually work at all. My audiologist “fixed” it, to no avail.
The tinnitus program helps significantly, but it’s not a cure. I would be great if it was a separate program, rather than an overlay on one the other programs I like to use for it’s intended purpose.
The other wish list item would be to have an Apple Watch app to change some basic settings, such as Edge Mode, answering the phone, volume, music player stop/start, and program changes.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for the feedback. Please work with your Professional to resolve the double-tap concern.
