I became my mother’s person rep upon her death and my brother inherited her home. Due to his eye problems I am the trustee of his estate so it has been complicated getting most accounts switched out. Waste Management has been one of the easiest. They have been very patient and respectful and the app has been fairly easy to understand, at least for me. I was able to keep trash pickup going while the estate is being settled. When my dad died 13 years ago, it was also easy to have his name switched to my mother’s. My parents had used Waste Management for many many years and as far as I know the only pick-up they had missed one was due to a blizzard that lasted for days.

Your company is literal garbage

I just had to manually pay my bill for this month and last because your new autopay system screwed up and never made it’s scheduled payment. For that I got to pay a 2 dollar convenience fee because of your technical issues. When I tried to get it resolved with your customer service, they did nothing other than waste my time (heaven forbid the people you speak to on the phone be empowered to do something to help). If I’m taking time to speak to somebody the phone and you’re calling me back after I submit a customer service request then put me on the phone with somebody that isn’t going to send me to your automated system. When I went through the chat the customer service rep told me this was a known issue, why didn’t you bother to tell any of your customers?

Why didn’t you bother to make some type of information available for customers to find out what they should do if affected by said issue and how to resolve it? Why do you expect customers to fix your company’s screwups and do your work? Maybe I can give you my phone number and when it’s time for my garbage and recycling to be picked up I can go ahead and load it in the truck for you myself.

So I’ll go ahead and reiterate your company is garbage, I’m sure there are nice people who work there but as an entity your company is garbage. Your customer support is garbage, your IT system is garbage, and it kills me that I have to send you money each month.

DO NOT USE WASTE MANAGEMENT

The irony of a name like Waste Management for a company that clearly lacks any kind of management and doesn’t pick up waste. Their company/app/website has had a glitch for months where payments aren’t being processed, so they skip your house and you have to call to pay the bill. They said to reset up our autopay on the app, but when I try, it gives and error message. We called to have autopay redone over the phone, and they said it was fixed, but once again the payment wasn’t processed, so they skipped our house again (that’s how we find out the payments didn’t process btw, because they never sent anything either time to say a payment had been missed). So we called again to pay over the phone and “fix” the issue again (but who really knows). Now this week, they skipped us again bc the lid to our trash can wasn’t completely closed…which is bc there is two weeks worth of trash stuffed in our one bin. Oh, but they said we could have two bins…for additional money of course. So now we have 2 weeks of trash piled up and going on week three. I’d call this company garbage, but an actual garbage company would be a god send right now compared to Waste Management who collects money and not the trash!!
