Description
Vintage-style dual phasor for AUv3 and Standalone.
PhaseThree is a detailed model of the MuTron Bi-Phase, with all the lovely sound of that unit (along with its foibles and quirks.)
It is worth noting that, due to aging factors, no two Bi-Phase hardware units sound alike; we found the best and most tuneful one we could lay our hands on, bought it for a faintly ridiculous price, and took it apart to see what made it tick. Like you do.
The result is a painstaking digital copy of the original unit, down to the unique sweep of its LFOs. With the latest version, we have departed from the original and added 12-stage phasors in addition to the six-stage versions found in the hardware units. (We feel that 12-stage phasors have a more modern sound that people expect in a current phasor, and that the six-stage versions in the original were somewhat lacking to the modern palette.)
Features
» Standalone (with Inter-App Audio) and AudioUnit V3 versions included.
» Perfect model of the original Bi-Phase, down to the response of the vactrols.
» The unobtanium Bi-Phase expression pedal is modeled as a separate parameter, for control by your favorite modulation source.
» 12-stage phasor option for each channel, in addition to the original 6-stage phasors.
» XML-based cross-platform preset manager, with copy and paste. (You can even move presets between the iOS version and the desktop version with Handoff.)
» Entirely vector-based resizable high-resolution user interface.
Ratings and Reviews
Very cool FX plugin
I like to always mention efficiency when it comes to iOS apps. Fx are meant to be “piled up”, along with others, so if something is too heavy on cpu, chances are I won’t use it much. PhaseThree is pretty good in that regard. Sound fidelity is also pretty good. You hear the fx applied but not any artifacts or “unnatural” feel. I got most of the apps from Audio Damage and they’re all very well made - 5-stars. Small app size is often an indicator of efficiency. The only one I didn’t like much was Enso, the occasional pops at the end of the loops kind of made it less enjoyable/useful for me... maybe they’ll fix it sometime. But all the rest of their apps (as of this writing) I totally recommend!
Still works great
But plz update older effect apps! This is become an key effect on my live bass rig and id hate to see it be forgotten by developer!
PFunque
I believe “phasors” are Star Trek weapons.
Just saying.
Yes, I know we have seen it, over the decades of error, this way before.
Hey, maybe you could add a few more knobs and sliders (or “slidors”) for more to belong the phase to us, given the depth of sound possibility here. Better still, it would confuse the guitarists, poor dears.
