Shared Family Calendar: FamCal 4+

I really like this app and all the free features. It has made life so much easier for our move and life in general. We had several things that needed to be completed before we moved and the To Do lists we created for each person helped to make sure we didn’t forget all the important stuff. If I thought of something that I needed someone else to do, I only had to add it to their list. Everyone could stay in the know about what was important to complete.

The grocery lists is one of our favorite features also, because we can create a list for each store and we can all add or check off items to the lists. Makes life incredibly easy for us especially now that we live further from the best grocery stores and if someone is in town all they have to do is glance at the list to see if they need to pick up anything…so essentially this app is saving on gas too.

Other than my app for listening to audio books, FamCal is my most used app on my phone! Thanks for such an easy to use app! It has saved me a lot of headaches and gas money!!!

My wife and I tried a few years ago to share calendars and could not find an app that worked for us. My wife found this app and having it has made tracking each other's schedules so much easier. There are only a few things I don't like about the app that may improve with future updates if they choose to incorporate them. 1) Holidays listed: there are some holidays listed that I have never heard of and don't need to see on my calendar. My options are to leave them or turn them all off and manually add in the ones I want which I don't want to have to do. 2) No way to interface with a computer: My work calendar is tied to Outlook on my work computer. It would be nice to have the ability to add items (work or otherwise) to my FamCal calendar from a computer rather than punching it in on my phone. More a minor inconvenience. 3) Status for events: Sometimes it would be nice to note a meeting or possible event without being shown as committed to it. The best way to explain this would be to compare it to the options in Outlook where you can "Show As:" Free, Busy, Tentative. There are times my wife has events on the calendar that she wants to see but isn't actually going or hasn't decided. Other than these minor items we like the app and plan to keep using and recommend it for other families.

There’s just nothing this app doesn’t have. It has all the features you need and still in a very convenient and easy to use design. Been using it for several years now. - We share our calendar across the family and events are color coded. - Adding subscription calendars is very easy. - The Recipe feature is smaaart! Just put the hyperlink for your recipe, and it will clear out all the junk and fluff and organize the recipe in Steps. Just the info you need!! No more scrolling through countless pages and ads to get to the main recipe button. Click a button and all the ingredients are neatly listed in the Shopping list. This is a gem and could be an app bh itself! - The tasks and shopping lists are amazing and you can have multiple shopping lists. - The Birthday Feature is too good. It lets you add all the birthdays, and then on one convenient page, let’s you see who’s birthday is coming up in how many days and how old they’re turning. What an awesome features.
