Split Pay is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by Evolve Bank & Trust, Members FDIC.
I’m a newbie here. I ran into some issues with my bank account and debit card not matching my split pay account. The reason being is bc I got a divorce and didn’t want to use my married name anymore so my split pay acct I used my maiden name. When I tell you split pay customers service made sure they helped me get it right!. They assist me in working on getting my issues resolved, and let me tell you they did!! I didn’t just chat or talk to anyone via email, I actually spoke to a few agents that assisted me with what I needed to get my car payment processed. It wasn’t one transaction, I had to run the payment through twice, and with customer service support on the phone to assist me, we got it right with the second transaction!! So far Spilt customer service support “ROCK!!”
Still being told that cannot use Split Pay

Been told multiple times tried to apply twice being denied. It won’t give me a reason for the denial. I use flex pay on a regular every month no problems with flex pay yeah there’s some here and there, but there’s nothing crazy and easily be fixed and out trying to use Split Pay I can’t even get past the application process because I’m getting denied. And they won’t even Tell me why. Or what I can do to fix this except for using a different bank account what does the bank account have to do I need help paying rent because I don’t have money to pay the rent that is what Split Pay is supposed to be for if I had something to hide I wouldn’t have put my banking information obviously I don’t have money in my bank that will cover the rent rent or else I wouldn’t be using Flex or Split Pay. I would just pay it directly to my renting. Office so I don’t know if it’s because they see a credit card with a balance of a certain amount but it’s actually I owe money to them. It’s not like I have the money so either tell me because I owe too much. Tell me the reason don’t just say a plain generic version not detail oriented why and what I can do to fix because if I open a bank account just to use it because you suggested it too I won’t have no money on that either so I don’t I don’t understand maybe it’s better I don’t use Split Pay. I haven’t even got approved and it’s been a problem.

Hi there - Apologies for the misunderstanding around the alternative bank account recommendation. Split Pay is looking at range of factors, including monthly income and transaction history against your expected payment amount, so the more history, the better. We encourage customers to connect all bank accounts where they have financial history during application. Eligibility may vary over time, and you're welcome to reapply after 30 days.

I’ve been using the Flex rent app for the majority of my lease and never had a problem. I decided to try this app because they recently got introduced the split and pay feature using the rent portal and I am able to split my rent with the Rent App evenly, unlike with Flex where they only fronted me $500. I followed their instructions and set up my rent to be paid. It was easy as 1-2-3. After the rent was paid and the money was withdrawn from my account, I received a email stating that my payment was unsuccessful due to insufficient funds for the entire amount of the rent. I called support and emailed them a screenshot of the payment that was withdrawn and told I would hear from them later that day. They sent me an email 8:30pm (after business hours) stating that they had to refund my payment because their system had started a ACH return to the rent portal. They did state that they would pay for any late and returned fees as a good gesture, which was fine with me. I rescheduled the payment and they waited until late afternoon to attempt withdrawing the payment and it was denied due to insufficient funds. I asked if they would make another attempt the next day and they said they would, but I would have to reschedule the payment because their system would have already started an ACH return. Apparently they launched this new system with the rent portal the week of April 21 or 28, so everybody who used this system for the month of May including me had some bad experience and was basically using us as the Guinea pigs to work out the kinks in their system. While they were using us as Guinea pigs, they were also ruining our credibility with our leasing agents. All in all, I will not be using this company again and would highly recommend to stay away from them. I may pay more with flex but at least I know I won’t have issues paying my rent with them.

Hi there - thank you for sharing your experience. We understand your frustration and sincerely apologize for the payment issues you encountered. This was due to a technical issue affecting a small percentage of users during our portal integration, not intentional testing. We've since:- Fixed the underlying bug- Implemented a new payment flow with extended processing time- Covered all late and returned payment fees for this small % of users- Upon request, made contact with your leasing office to explain the situationThese improvements ensure similar issues won't occur in future payments. We're confident our service reliability has been restored and would value another opportunity to serve you. Our support team is ready to help answer any additional questions you may have. Email support@rent.app or call/text (877) 749-3592.
Good alternative to flex!

I originally planned to use Flex to split my rent, but I wasn’t eligible to use my Flex account, so I started looking for another option and found Split Pay. While my apartment doesn’t directly promote it, I needed something to help me get by this month, and this stated it works with all portals. My rent also posted over a Saturday , which made me nervous about processing times given some reviews about late fees, but everything worked as promised. Support was responsive to my many nervous questions, my full rent was sent to my building, and the ACH settled within the stated 1–3 business days. My first portion was charged immediately the next Monday and the rest was scheduled for later in the month. No late fees as my portal showed $0.00 after Split Pay had taken the first half out of my acct on Monday. Great option if you need flexibility with rent, especially if Flex isn’t available to you!
Cleaned up some issues and made general improvements.
