Unique short exercises, simple

Pls add 1. A place in the app for feature requests, 2. A longer option where you can adjust the length of the exercise (eg for days where I want to do a 10-20 min meditation), 3. Make the transition sounds a bit more obvious, sometimes have to look at the app to double check if it’s transitioned to exhale or something

Otherwise, been my most used meditation app because of how short the exercises are and how simple, no extra words and distractions like quotes etc. simple, aesthetic, quick and effective

Simple. Effective. Grows with your Capacity

Used this for a year now. And tried many others. Always return back to this one. Because it’s simple, elegant and grows with you. There are fancier ones out there with lots of “moods” and ways to personalize...I found them all too distracting and requiring too much of my input and attention. In the end, it’s all about training attention, so why add more distractions? It sets a baseline with an initial breath capacity test and then it just works. 4 simple, core “states”. Answer two questions after each session and it will grow, stay the same, or regress accordingly.
I use it as a “bridge” to both my morning meditation (Be Present) and for falling asleep (Fall Asleep). I suffered through a horrendous case of Covid in March which almost took me out for good. I wholeheartedly believe that this app, because I’d been using it pre-Covid, and had a very fit lung capacity, helped me survive when 3/4 of both my lungs were pulped by that ferocious virus. I’m back to full capacity after months of recuperating and using this app daily to force O2 and fresh blood into/around growing lung tissue.
I have recommended this to other Covid survivors. And just sent it to a friend who suffers from anxiety to use as a bridge to a calmer “state”...
(*Only gripe is that the developers short-change themselves by not providing an easy way to share the app with others from WITHIN the app.)

Non-athletes benefit as well

Even as a Boomer non-athletic woman, I’ve been using the State app every day and am loving it! My day is not complete if I haven’t done at least one breathing exercise.

State is really helping my ability to breathe better during my moderately aerobic workouts – as well as awareness of my breath and centeredness during the day. In just 27 days, I’ve increased my exhalation, and most recently by a whole 10 seconds. I’m so pleased with the progress!

Bonus: As a graphic designer, I‘m inspired by the simplicity, elegance and intelligence thoughtfully designed into the app. Bravo to B-Reel for their amazing collaboration!
