I have just discovered this interface type. Looks like GeoShred but less expensive. I paid for the 3.99 instrument update. The items with locks seem to play so I think that is what I bought. I would like to see the slide feature improved to be smoother and not at least as an option not try to play wash not when gesturing across the screen and the mid wheel effect seems non existent on each pad but the vibrato works well. This could be a great performance instrument and I am looking forward to see how I might be able to use it in my DAW sessions.

****Update: the new version is even worse than the previous one, developer added more ads to it! Now you ALWAYS have an ad in the GUI. The bug where trying an instrument makes the app stop making any sounds is still there (which you learn after you were forced to watch a promo film!). The joke app is even more of a joke now. *****As mentioned by another reviewer, the app is a shameful bootleg of another app. Synthesizer interface - what synthesizer interface? There simply isn’t one! All you can do is select presets, no further control of the synth sound. And why can’t the premium sounds and scales be clearly marked so that we don’t have to constantly run into a reminder to purchase the pro version?No instructions manual. A bug where some notes randomly sound modulated with pitch shift / vibrato. There is no pattern and any logic to why it happens so it must be a bug.When a “Try Free” option is chosen for a patch the entire app goes silent, no more sound even if you change back to one of basic patches. The only way to bring back the sound is by completely quitting the app.No IAA and no AUv3.

I see other reviewers saying this app is a knock off of GeoShred but I’m not sure what their point is. Yes, it has “shred” in the name but it’s also a good app in its own right and should be judged independently. The grid keyboard layout is nicely done (and did not originate with GeoShred, by the way) and it works fine, and many of the sounds are quite good. The oboe certainly sounds nice and I like the piano as well. I just wish MIDI would be added.

Clearly this Cracker Jack App is “trying” to mimic (and rip-off) GeoShred. But it does not even come close by a light year. It lacks the sophistication, intelligence,and creative inspiration in width, and depth of GeoShred. It’s a download and delete app, not worth taking up valuable memory space on your phone or tablet, which can be better served recording your next TicTok video hit!
