Ratings and Reviews
Good game, slow paced
I like the mellow pace of this fun slot machine rpg. It’s good for playing as a second screen when you’re watching something else. Great lore and character design.
Disappointing.
Compared to past ToF installments, I found this game lacking overall. I completed the story and have gotten the "Best Ending." Here are my pros and cons compared to Tower of Fortune 3
Pros
-prettier than ToF3
- greater emotional connection to the characters via various animations
- more simple than ToF3
-fair price
Cons -lack of text/dialogue made the story and character generally uninteresting/confusing.
- too easy/simple for my personal taste.
-I personally had a hard time getting the armor/weapons I wanted
-while the art style was pretty, I preferred the style in ToF3
-low replayability. After beating the main story once, I only "100%'d" the game due to commitment to the series and boredom at work.
-No random events. This was a huge turn-off for me.
-no rage/beast mode in combat. This was a huge turn-off for me.
There are other small things I disliked and liked about the game, but overall, I felt this game left much to be desired as compared to ToF3, which I loved. While an overall good game for the price, I was honestly hoping for more. I'm hoping for better things in the future! Love this series!
*Bugs* -sometimes, collectables stay on the screen after collecting them
-you can double tap the random prompts and activate them two to three times, depending on how quick you tap them.
Not much improvement for a paid sequel
This is the first Tower of Fortune game I’ve paid for (ToF 2 and 3 were free). For $3 I guess I was expecting some QoL improvements. Sure there are more levels but the game is just as cryptic. A large part of the game included replaying levels that increase enemy health and damage, yet you can’t skip the 20 second level intros, can’t speed up the slow battle speed or transitions, skip game over animations, etc. Also, the 60fps animations from 3 were way better than these.
It’s still a good series but I’d recommend ToF 3 or 2. The gameplay is the exact same and you won’t miss anything, and they don’t cost anything.
