Travelers IntelliDrive® is a program for Travelers auto insurance customers. This app will measure your driving for 90 days and provide updated scores and feedback after each trip recorded. Your auto policy will be rated based on obtaining sufficient driving information from the app.
There are just a few steps to get the app set up, and then it will run in the background.
Note: The IntelliDrive program is not available in all states. Contact Travelers or your insurance agent for more information.

Okay at best.
This app performs okay at best. There at times that I have been dinged for “bad driving” but the app can’t accurately track the route I drove. So I can’t believe that an app says I drove badly when it the route has me driving through a parks, buildings, not roads, etc.
there have also been times I have been dinged for accelerating too fast when getting onto highways which also doesn’t make sense to me. In my opinion you need to be going the speed limit when entering the highway but I have been dinged for accelerating too fast.
For the most part it it works very well. These are gripes I have with it so far and I think it all evens out over 90 days but having a bad mark on a trip should be marked less or they need to do better tracking your trips.
Flawed and misleading
Right now my husband and I are 32 days into the 90 days with 4 stars. Here are my thoughts:
I’ve received 2 hard brakes so far... both times because people cut in front of me in heavy traffic. I guess I could have brakes more gently and stopped RIGHT on their bumper but I did the safe thing and got dinged for it. It does take a lot to raise the ding and it strikes me as overly sensitive... I could drive to beat the app but then I would be changing my driving to unsafe for the sake of a score.
Time of day: this is a joke. If you drive between 11:30am and 7pm you will be dinged for time of day. I’m a stay at home mom. Never on the road after 8pm and I’ve got a B because I run errands during the middle of the day. I don’t understand why... but apparently they consider rush hour starting at 11:30am.
Speed: I live in Texas where our highway speeds are 70mph. The app has never marked me as driving too fast... but my speed score has held at a B because of the highway speeds. I have made sure to never go over 73-74 mph while the app is running so again, not sure how this one works. Travelers doesn’t seem to want you on the highway.
Skewed in favor of the company
The app currently has me at 2/5 stars for my driving. I assume somewhat for time of day, which I can’t do much about (currently have a C+), but it seems mostly based on speed (current grade D). But see, I’ve done the calculations, and I have logged 1506 minutes as of now and only 18 of those are marked as speeding. Which means I have a D for just over 1% of my driving being unsafe (and in reality I was a passenger then and just forgot to change it because it doesn’t show up immediately, so I’m even more frustrated). It looks like right now I won’t be getting that discount because of this, which is extremely discouraging, because I feel like no matter how much more I drive it’ll keep me at 2 stars.
