Full disclosure, I just started using the app. It’s much faster than the website, which is a big plus. Although, it’s not that much different. The interface is ok, but it could use some modern touches, like a fingerprint authentication option. The diagnostic run seems a little ‘smoke and mirror’ish, but then again, I haven’t ran into any detected issues yet. Also, I would suggest adding a speed tester as a new feature. I’m sure that would ruffle a lot of feathers—our service is rarely at top speed—but as a user, it’s important to me while troubleshooting.
Nice first attempt, but weak.
Having been a long suffering Wildblue/Excede/Viasat customer, I welcome this attempt by Viasat to give its users a tool for finding out what’s going on with our satellite connections, but there’s more than one or two things that just aren’t right.
The app is bloated. 150MBs! And it’s for people with limited download allowances.
Login each and every time? No touch or Face ID. This is 2018. Inexcusable.
Agree to terms EVERYTIME you login? Lazy programming.
Ask for push notifications EVERYTIME you login. See the last comment. I don’t ever want push notifications so stop asking!
Works on iPad, but only in portrait mode. What about iPad Pro users with keyboards? See the last comment.
No way to reboot modem unless YOU detect a problem. Well, your agents never detect problems other than “congestion”. Should we expect this program to be any better?
And finally, this thing is slower than molasses running uphill in January at the North Pole. And I’m running on an iPad Pro and an iPhone X. All this back and forth to the server is slow and again uses data users don’t want to waste on finding out what’s wrong with your system!
Come on Viasat! Give us a useful, efficient, and complete tool. And please don’t make us wait forever like we have for Viasat2 which never rolled out in early February (like you said) or for that matter now.

I almost didn’t even download this due to negative reviews and with the morning I had, I didn’t need anymore non-working gadgets!! Decided to give it a shot, I was able to reset my modem quickly and I’m back online!! My info is right there on hand and to reboot, I did select the test again page before it gave me the option. I give it 5 stars...I’m not sure what else you would expect this app to do..it does everything it claims!! Well done!! Btw, I do not leave reviews but couldn’t handle an app that works having so many bad reviews and someone like me may not download when it could help them. ❤️
