Vodobanka 9+

A long time ago, I bought a game called breach and clear on the App Store. It was a tactical game where you controlled a swat team and you had to perform various counter terrorist missions. Sadly, a company called game club now owns the rights to Breach and clear and charges a subscription fee for access to their collection.

Breach and Clear was and still is one of my favorite games, but it is seemingly obvious that Vodobanka is a true passion project by the developer. It is simple, easy to get into, incredibly fun, and can hold one’s attention for hours on end. I love the core gameplay, and all of the mini games are a nice addition that give me something to play for a couple minutes if I get bored. I love the mission variety and the accessibility for user created levels.

Best of all, it is completely free, with no ads, no micro-transactions etc. It’s like the developer had a dream, realized it, and then decided to make a gift out of their hours of work. I have not found a single bug, and I have spent hours playing this game. I always wondered if I could find a mobile game this good, and then Vodobanka showed up in “more games you might like” and I decided to give it a try.

I would strongly recommend this game to anyone who reads this and is thinking NV about giving it a try.

This game is really cool, I only have a few criticisms. Firstly I wish there were different “themes” I’m not a huge fan of the hand drawn art style but this is just a personal preference. Second this game has no iPad app which isn’t a real problem since the game takes up most of the screen anyways. My final issue is that I use the storm room function a lot and I almost always want to arrest everyone afterwards but the arrest everyone option is at the bottom of the drop down menu. I don’t know if this is a problem exclusively for iPad but it just hurts your wrist after a while.

I’m going into computer science and this game really inspired me. I hope that one day I can make something like this.

Thanks for good reply. Having support of multiple themes would be nice but I have to say that it was hard for me to draw even this simple graphics. I'm not that good at drawing stuff, so I probably can't draw better :)

I want to start off by staying that all of the games created by Ivan are great and the fact that they allow a free version is even better. That being said all of the games feel as if they are missing something. For example this game feels like sometimes it doesn’t matter how you breach a room. Your people might end up getting shot when they are staring right at the shooter. It just doesn’t always work. Finally I want to make a recommendation to the developer. You have created these great games based off other games. I want to see what kind of game you can make yourself with your own ideas because I think it will be better than any other game you have created. Never try to be like a another person because you limit yourself to never surpass them. I think you are great developer good luck.
