Paid almost 10k for this and the app is horrible. I returned the v8 whole thing. If your reading this before the guy finishes setting up cancel now and save the hassle of refunding it. I’m serious telll them you changed your mind and go buy a camera setup from Costco for under 1k that will do the same and better. You just have to have to time to set it up but it will save you over 5 grand. So think about it
Worse than in the past.
It just simply does not work, right from the start. The scan feature does not register. I’ve tried 5 times. I tried to do it manually, but I have no idea the difference between a device I’d and a product I’d; my device only has a device I’d. This app just does not do anything. I used to have this app a few years ago, and it eventually just stopped connecting to any cameras, but at least I was able to get it to connect and work for a couple of months to start with before it stopped working. This won’t even start to work. I thought that giving it about 6 years time might cause all the problems to be fixed for good, but now it’s worse.
When it works, it’s great
It seems like the DDNS/P2P will randomly stop working (also a problem on the Windows PC app) and you have to reconnect it from the “edit device” menu every once in awhile to get it to connect again. Also if you close the app, but don’t force close it from the app switcher, and go back into it nothing will connect, until the app is force closed. When it works, it works well and is very responsive. If they can get these issues worked out, I would give it 5 stars (and start installing their products more :))
