Push Notifications When you start generating an artifact (audio overviews, video overviews, slide decks, etc) feel free to exit the app. NotebookLM will now send you a notification when the generation is complete!

Add images as a source • Upload photos and screenshots from your device, or use its camera from within the NotebookLM app. • Import images like screenshots, infographics, handwritten notes, whiteboards, printed handouts, and more. Save your Audio Overview progress • Never lose your place in your listening material again—if you pause or close the app while listening to an Audio Overview, your exact playback position is now automatically saved for next time. Create flashcards & quizzes • Memorize key terms, important dates and core concepts from your sources with flashcards. • Test your comprehension and challenge yourself with quizzes. • Customize the topic, set the difficulty, and choose the number of cards or questions. Select and unselect sources within a notebook • Don’t want to use all the sources in your notebook? You can now temporarily select and unselect sources while chatting or creating an Audio Overview, so the response is only based on the sources you care about right now. Messages in chat no longer expire • Chats are now saved automatically across sessions, so you can resume chatting later without losing context. As always, your work remains private, and you can delete your chats at any time. Major quality improvements for chats • Chat in NotebookLM now has 50% better quality, a 4x larger context window, and 6x longer conversation memory — all powered by the latest Gemini models.

We’ve dramatically reduced the buffering time for Audio Overviews (by up to 95%!), so you can start listening faster. Audio Overview Customization • Tailor your Audio Overviews to your exact needs. You can now select a preferred language, adjust the length (English only for now), and add prompts to guide the audio generations. Improved Stability • We’ve rebuilt our audio experience to make generation, playback, and download more stable and reliable.
