We love this app. I think it has great information and it is engaging and fun. My issue is that I think the fart, burp, and toilet sounds are a little overdone. I have just been listening to my child play this and I can’t believe that I’m hearing a fart sound throughout the educational videos multiple times throughout each video. I am one who typically has no problems with this, and so if I’m having an issue with it, then that’s kind of a big deal. They are too frequent and pretty distracting. Maybe it’s to help keep the kids engaged in a subject by making it sound like an extremely flatulent classroom? I don’t know, I think it should be taken down a notch or ten… other than that, it’s a very cute app with a lot of fun information.

Thank you for taking the time for review our learning program. Noted on the sounds and we'll look to see if the volume is a bit high . Those farting sounds are only part of the ambient sounds in the human body section. We put specific ambient sounds in each virtual field trip ie: bird sounds in the rainforest. We thought that sounds funny human sounds would make the human body submit more fun. We'll look to improve the volume.
Awesome learning app!

This is one of those learning apps that when I started using it before I did not like it and did not have the patience for it but now that I’ve started using it again now that I’m older I’ve noticed I have more patience for it and actually enjoy it a lot more than when I was younger. My favorite thing is the games. I also like the section on inventions. I think it would be cool if you guys did some read aloud story books on topics as well or interactive books that have games because I think that would be really cool. I mean games based on the topic. To me it doesn’t matter that the games that come after the videos aren’t exactly based on the topic, but it still is pretty awesome. What I mean by books I think you guys should add a library inside the school. That would be really neat. Overall I love this app because it explains things in a way that I understand as a blind and autistic user and I love how good the narration is on these videos.
Our top kids app, hands down

We’ve had a subscription to MarcoPolo World School for over a year now and still love it. Our son had just turned three when we first started with MarcoPolo and he still uses the app regularly. They add new content frequently and I am guessing that it will keep his interest for a number of years going forward. The app has short science video-lessons on a variety of topics such as ecosystems (oceans, forests, the Arctic, etc.), weather, human body, dinosaurs and vehicles. The videos are entertaining for adults as well and help me to keep up with all the information my son is absorbing. The games are also absorbing and cover basic math, reading and writing skills. Some of my favorite lessons are the music videos (currently there are three in the ocean module). The songs are catchy and clever. My son always sings the clean-up song when he needs to pick up his toys. There is also the artroom with coloring and drawing sections as well as videos on a variety of creative projects. At first, I felt that the supplies for them were too many and too specific (like googly eyes and glitter glue). But our son has spent a lot of times crafting the projects and now is using the supplies and techniques he learned from the app to make up his own projects. So they turned out worth the investment. If you have a young child, they will definitely need a lot of adult assistance with these projects though. One time when their content came a day later than advertised, my son had been checking for new lessons all day. Because of his disappointment I decided to provide that feedback to MarcoPolo World School. I was impressed with the level of customer service when someone got back to me within the hour well after business hours (especially for London where they are based) and clarified the nature of the delay. (The videos were up early next morning.)If you want to see the level of quality of the app and don’t want to spend money, check out MarcoPolo Ocean or Arctic, they are free and are available in a lot of different languages.

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with World School. We are so happy to hear that your son is so engaged with it. He will be happy to know that we have a very exciting lineup of new topics this year. We are also adding some new ways on how each lesson is taught and adding a new type of experience called "live teacher" in 2-3 months. We will also be adding a new interface that provides learning paths in addition to the current free play experience. We are also adding a new classroom soon- a music room! We'll send more details as it gets closer to launch. Hope you have a nice weekend!
Excellent Program!

I’m a retired teacher and a mom, and I have not found a better program than Marco Polo. My tenant’s preschool age daughter asks for it by name. We tried a lot of free apps, to see what we liked. I wouldn’t give any of them more than one star (at best). Marco Polo is excellent for preschool through primary grades. It is an flexible, highly visual program that can be adapted to an individual’s needs. It can be used for introducing or reviewing both verbal and pre-reading/reading skills leading to mastery of foundational skills (patterns/memory/phonics/vocabulary). It introduces children to a wide variety of non fiction topics, thus supporting comprehension. It is a high interest program that appeals to children. And, like all excellent programs, the teacher in me suggests that parents use it together with their children, because one thing always leads to another! 🙂
