Tried Indeed, Trello, LinkedIn jobs, all of them pale in comparison to handshake. The ui alone and innovative way to search for jobs is a selling point that can beat any other site out there. It may not have the amount of jobs like indeed, but you can find good ones very quickly that are the perfect fit for you. My school, IUPUI uses handshake and I was able to find an opportunity as a freshman, I was a freshman!I have only seen jobs pertaining to the technology sector, software engineer to data analyst type stuff. That’s because that’s all I’m interested in right now. However, the DM system where companies can reach out to you, or you can reach out to recruitment managers is an amazing addition to an already great job hunting experience. Try it out!
Still Job Searching (app needs a lot of work)

I hate leaving a bad review, but there is no way to contact anyone for feedback. I got this app as an alumni and the career department of my school recommended. This app needs a lot of work. I am look for a remote position. There is no option to put this in your search or on your profile. Also I don’t know what the point of having a profile is because every recruiter that contacts me obviously doesn’t even look at it. They also ignore my job preferences. I often get messages about jobs outside of my field and nowhere near where I live. Most of the messages I get from the recruiters are similar messages over and over. Even when I respond that the job is not what I’m look for and that they are not remote and out of state the recruiters ignore it and later respond with the same job with a similar if not the same message that was sent to me before. It’s so bad that I would equate it to spam. Please fix this. I should only be getting jobs that are relevant to my job preferences. Why even have a job preferences page if it doesn’t work? Please add the option to filter results for remote work, add remote work to job preferences page and fix it so my job preferences and profile aren’t ignored by the recruiters.

Handshake is what my college said use and move on. University of South Carolina verified my profile. My area has NO jobs available. Handshake business sponsors spam users with job offers completely unaffiliated with your major or career direction, and to make the spam worse, jobs are over 300 miles away. Handshake will shadow ban and limit your profile if you speak the truth about the job market during the economic crisis that is building. Positivity doesn’t pay bills or fulfill my future career goals after college. There are what I will describe as bots that try to demean your experiences. The few “recruiters” on there literally acknowledge “some of you will flip burgers forever after college, and that is the risk they are willing to take.” Middle class social media influencers plague Handshake— way out of touch to everyday people. If you like getting no jobs after college, watching influencers like sirens, and get censored for speaking the economic truth, then this Handshake is for you. If you don’t have experience for a future career, then Handshake isn’t for you. If your college pushed into Handshake, your college threw you to the wolves. Wish I didn’t have to write this but my words are true. Rural Americans, Handshake is a premium waste of time.

Pulling teeth to delete my account
EmilyyElizabethh24
I normally never leave reviews, but this whole experience was a nightmare. It started about 2 months ago when my uni created an account with my uni email. It prompted me to set up notification alerts. I set it to the least amount of notifications I could get. I still got emails almost daily. I tried to delete my account via the link provided in the preference emails to no avail. This week I have gotten emails back to back to back to the point where I was about to contact customer support to figure out why I was still getting them. FAQ’s said you could do it online, false, or via the link provided, false. To delete your account you must download the app and then a link is sent to the support team to approve the account that I never created. If this company allows 3rd parties to register their information then they need to provided a simple and painless way to delete student accounts. Do not use this app. Don’t even look at it or you’ll get an envite to an event 18 hours that had nothing to do with you.
