Using the word swap technique I learned from curable in this review :) (use less negative words to describe a situation to reframe it in your mind). I have been on the app for only 8 days, but have already committed many hours to it and am using the techniques I have learned throughout the day seeing better results than I have in years. Most importantly, I feel more optimistic about my situation than I have in a long time, finally feel like I cracked the nut behind this nagging sensations that have help me back from living my life. Even my partner has noticed a remarkable improvement in my mood and overall well-being. I downloaded the app a few years ago, but wasn’t full convinced (I did not have a traumatic childhood) or too busy to dedicate myself to it, but just read a recent article about chronic pain in WaPo that mentioned the app and that made me give it another whirl. Also, I had a full year of remission from any symptoms about 4 years ago and realize now the missing piece to that remission was daily/multiple times a day journal writing and meditation (I always attributed it to medications and PF PT, which I think helped, but when I went back to those modalities when symptoms came back, they did not remit like they did the first time - and now I see why.) I will try to post again after a few months to give more of an update (but when you feel good or are better, it is hard to post). I wanted to give anyone out there feeling stuck that this is something I would highly recommend.

Curable - The Lynchpin to My Recovery Story

I’m my professional life, I’ve advised corporations on why and how to turn customers into advocates. I am writing this review to advocate for Curable. I cannot endorse it anymore. After years of unsuccessful diagnoses and treatments from numerous medical providers, a doctor and nurse at Mayo recommended Curable and Dr. Hanscom’s book Back in Control. That was the turning point in my journey. I’ve been improving ever since then. It has not been a straight line, and it has not been easy. However, in a strange way it’s been beautiful, and I’m learning so much about myself I never knew. Fortunately, after many years, I finally found a team of medical providers that espouse the mind-body approach. However, medical providers can only do so much. They have limited time and resources. You the patient need to be in control of your journey. Curable is always there for you when you need it or want it. It supplements even the best team of medical providers and empowers you as the CEO of your own recovery. I can safely say it’s been the lynchpin in my recovery story. I’ve recommended Curable to medical providers, and they in turn have recommended it to other providers and patients. They have told me Curable helps fill a known gap that many pain management clinics and hospitals have due to limited time, money, and resources. I am 57 years old, and I’ve been suffering from back pain since I was in my teens. For many years as a teenager I saw a physical therapist to help with my back pain. Unfortunately, it only helped a little. I live a very healthy lifestyle, and about 3 to 5 times a year my back will go out, and I will be completely debilitated for several days. Sometimes I am completely unable to even get off the floor or get out of bed as the pain is unbearable. The only thing I have found that helps is to continually exercise. Over the years I’ve consulted with many surgeons that said I was not a candidate for surgery. A few years ago I started getting epidural injections that would minimize the frequency of my severe lower back spasms. Of course I don’t like getting the injections and I haven’t had one in over 14 months. 2 1/2 months ago, I started using the Curable app and I’ve been 90% pain-free. I still have experienced back spasms, but unlike previously when I would be bedridden for a day or two and have to take pain pills and anti inflammatories and miss work for a few days, now my spasms go away within about a minute and so does the pain. I’m blown away by the results and am enjoying the process along the way. I honestly thought that I was going to live with this condition for the rest of my life, but now I know there’s a better way.

This app has changed my life

I have suffered from migraines for 15 years and knee pain for five. I stopped jogging because of my knee pain and the migraines have impacted my life weekly and put me in bed in a dark room. I have seen doctors, acupuncturists, and chiropractors. I have been on different medications, stopped drinking caffeine and completely changed my diet. Nothing has worked for long. I came across this app about two months ago and thought, “what do I have to lose?” I began to do the program as explained easily on the app and immediately noticed a difference in my pain levels. I listened to many of the expert interviews and recovery stories and saw myself over and over again in how much my emotional pain had to do with my physical pain. As I felt better, I started to feel more brave about exercise and eating...two things I had severely restricted due to migraines and knee pain. I took it slow but little by little realized that I could jog a little and my knee didn’t hurt. I ate some food with sugar in it and even had a glass of wine and didn’t get a migraine. Slowly I have been getting my life back with Laura’s voice guiding me along the way. I can’t begin to explain how grateful I am to the developers for putting together this amazing program. I want to shout from the mountain tops and tell everyone to try Curable. If it can help me, it can help anyone. It’s now been three weeks since I had a migraine and yesterday I jogged 4.5 miles without knee pain. Try it...you have nothing to lose and a life of freedom from pain to gain.
