An app to control home automation that doesn’t support shortcuts? This app is basically useless. Unreliable to open my door. Thermostat has zero automation or scheduling. Light switch requires you go into the app to turn the switch on. None of this is compatible with HomeKit, Alexa, or Google. So they took a Yale lock and removed functionality. They took a thermostat and removed functionality the point it had less feature than a thermostat in my apartment 15 years ago. And they have lights that are barely smart. And on top of all this, I get to pay a subscription fee from my apartment to use all of this technology that doesn’t typically require a subscription. What a joke. This company is garbage. They really locked down screwing over people to make money.Not to mention I also reached out to their customer support. Took weeks before I received a response every time they replied. -10/10 would NEVER recommend.Edit: Developer responded. They want me to troubleshoot with them. I already tried that for 3 months when I moved in. It would take WEEKS to receive a response from them. I refuse to waste another minute of my time troubleshooting this.

I had been having issues with Ambient for months with their email support being extremely slow. Once i got on the phone with them, things moved along and i got an onsite tech visit. Dave from HelloTech was able to resolve all the issues with my devices and the hub. The devices are even more responsive now than they were previously too.My only suggestion for developers is for the app on iphone. I find if i leave the app and come back to it a while later, I need to force close and then reopen it to get it to function. It is most likely something to do with how ios handles background apps but would be great if that was looked into.

The app isn’t overly complicated, but does what I need to do. The only thing I wish it would do was allow me to see when somebody walks onto my front porch. When you ring the bell, it takes a video which is nice. But the last few times when package after they were delivered, it would’ve been nice to see who stepped up there and grabbed my stuff. With regards to customer/technical service I’ve experienced some of the best yet. Brian and today Sarahi were polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful of my time while still making sure I was completely satisfied. They both seem very knowledgeable of the app and how it works. Great Experience

Honestly don’t know if it’s the app or WiFi or whatever it is but ever since my apartment swapped from Vivint (no issues at all) to this I’ve had issues every time I use the dumb app, I try to turn the lights off they don’t go on or off, try to turn the ac off or down, you guessed it doesn’t do anything. I can’t even pair my phone to the lock because it gives me an error message every time. So if this is the app than I wouldn’t use this service at all, but if it’s my apartment somehow, disregard everything I have said but I’m pretty sure it’s the app cuz like I said I had no issues with Vivint. Not that it matters but in the type of person that never reviews unless it’s either that great, or that terrible and so far I’ve had a terrible experience with this.
