As I was trying to check in for my flight to New Zealand, 24 hours before departure, I discovered that my wife and I needed NZeTA electronic visas to travel to NZ. I was at work without access to our passports so I asked my wife to download the NZeTA app and get the visas. She said she would and started working on it. When she searched for NZeTA, this app came up as the first choice and listed NZeTA in the top line description, so she thought was it. Not so. She reported that she’d decided to request the expedited service since we left in less than 24 hours. The final charge was $483 for 2 people after fees, taxes, etc. I have no idea if the government sponsored site offers expedited service or what they may charge for it. I CAN tell you that NZeTA charges $17 for a standard application while this app charges $77 for the same. If you’re going to New Zealand, DO NOT use this app

My Australian Visa Experience

iVisa will continue to say it’s not their fault, blame either me or the government of Australia, but I must at least tell everyone my experience (spoiler alert: I’ll cost me $300 because they refuse to refund). 1. I did the super-rush service for an Australian visa and paid nearly $300 for it (the need for the rush was my fault, not theirs).2. The following day, as my flight approached, I did not have any communication back other than “waiting for government” (spoiler alert: you can go straight to the government and skip step 1!).3. Since they do not have any additional expertise or contacts to move this through - I can tell you “super rush” versus regular, is the same queue.4. I had 2.5 hrs before my flight and an agent suggested that this was not a legit service for $300 and told me to just use the standard ETA.5. I used the standard Australian ETA app, paid $20, and got the visa in 2 hours, made my flight, and STILL hours ahead of iVisa’s Australian queue from the day before.I can only speak to my Australian Visa experience, they refuse to refund my money at all, even though they knew it was clearly obsolete once I received it the Visa from ETA.At least pleas beware that: super-rush was not a real rush, since standard queue was quicker anyway!

Although IVisa and many of these other overly expensive travel document companies are third party companies, they charge excessively for the smallest conveniences and extra services compared to an official ETA app. Unfortunately, because of how misleadingly high IVisa’s ratings are, it is likely that people will fall for what is essentially a scam. Also and specifically from experience, applying for a UK ETA took only a few minutes for approval, but inconveniently at the same time, the refund policy states that after approval, you are no longer eligible for a refund, making people more susceptible to going through with the scam. I hope people can inform others about this issue as much as possible to prevent further inconveniences and headaches.
