I’ve reliably used this scale from a couple of years. It’s easy to use, the charge lasts quite a while and I really like all of the data the app does surface. However…there are some user-centric features the app developers can add that would make the user experience much, much better. 1.) Please bold-face the font that is not already bold-faced; allow users to customize their preferences to enlarge the font; please—PLEASE—stop using pale gray font! It is TREMENDOUSLY difficult to read the copy in some sections. For example, when the users look at the trends section, it’s nearly impossible to see the faint, tiny, pale-shaded font on the graph labels, even with glasses on. Graph labels and icons on this section are this pale, cloud-gray font, on a white background, in a super-thin font, in a size that’s like a 6. I have to take a screen shot and then enlarge the photo to see what it says…it’s such an inconvenience and kind of negates any intended purpose to keep users in the app for insight collection. 2.) include a “Weekly Average Weight” calculation and a corresponding trend graph. I like to weigh every day, ignore the dailies and then track my weekly average weight, because it’s a much more accurate perspective. With the Renpho app, I can see a trend line, and I can manually jot down the weights Renpho tracks and calculate the average, but I would like my tracking to be paperless. Renpho app developers: please make these changes and I will give the app a “5!” Otherwise, I may be looking for a smart scale with a more user friendly app.

When you first set up your account - which I had no trouble with - you select units. I selected lbs for weight/mass. When I did my first weigh, though, the app was showing #st#lb. People don't realize that st means stone, which is 14 lb. It's not used in the U.S., but it is still used in the U.K. It is still a form of measurement with lbs. Then I realized the app didn't save my unit setting correctly when I set it up, so I just went back in and set it to lbs again, and it held. A little bit of patience to locate and check the unit settings could have made this app a better experience for other reviewers who didn't know what st meant. This app communicates seamlessly with LoseIt and Fitbit and Apple Health. I no longer have to enter my weight or any other of the metrics manually anywhere. THAT is impressive. Fitbit doesn't even bother doing this! My biggest concern would be that connectivity, and Renpho works just as I hoped it would. The measurements and values themselves are consistent with a recent body composition analysis I had at my gym. The app is aesthetically pleasing, and you can choose your color scheme. Most of the screens and accessing data and charts are fairly straightforward. You can even look at trends based on time of day of the measurements. I'm very pleased with both the app and the scale.

We bought this scale to allow the family to use the software for personal tracking. On a surface level that part works. There are still multiple issues/annoyances, though, that need to be worked out. 1) Every time I open the app it asks about connecting a Fitbit. I don’t own a Fitbit and I have no plans to buy a Fitbit. Can you accept that? I have the Fitbit setting off but I still get it every single time. 2) the Trend screen assumes the last seven measurements are a week. If I don’t weigh myself every day then the “week” can stretch out for any indeterminate period of time. Makes trending difficult if two points are a day apart and two others are a week apart. Use the dates of measurement to properly graph data. 3) There was an error on height entry when I first started the app. I noticed the error and updated but the initial measurements (BMI, etc) were based off of the wrong height. This made trend charts show an increase in numbers after I made the correction. There is no option to correct numbers in my history. It would be nice to have things change or at least be given an option of “would you like to apply this change to past measurements?” 4) More of a general item but entry and tracking interface needs more work to be more user friendly. I think this scale and app combo have a lot of potential, especially at the price point, but it’s still very rough around the edges. If the app could be refined then this would go from a 3 star to a 5 star product.

I like this version much better than the new one. This version summarizes everything I want to see in one page where the new one I'm forced to scroll/navigate to see the same information. This versions dashboard shows 12 data points all color coded and visible without scrolling. New version shows 1 data point (not including calories which is not related to my devices). Additionally the developers of new version set a limit on number of measurement points that can be migrated between apps. Therefore measurements I had taken in this one for months are lost and cannot be added as the limit is higher here on the old. These are low hanging fruit software fixes that are completely preventing me from using the new version. Would happily switch if they matched the dashboard and removed measurement data point limits. This old version is perfect in my opinion, only changes I'd like to see would be unlimited data points for circumference measurements.
