I really wanted to love this app. The feature list is practically perfect. I’ve used “Fabulous” and really gotten into healthy routines and habits. I also use “Things” and the GTD system, and was looking forward to the time blocking and the analysis pie chart. The reflective features are useful, like rating energy etc.But here’s my complaint: the user interface is not smooth enough. It takes way too many steps to do things. It gets in its own way, in the way of actually getting stuff done. With some remorse, I’ve decided to instead use “Structure” for time blocking. Even though it has fewer features, the features it does have are a bit smoother and easier, and when we are talking about habits and routines and planning, we want it all to be as easy and pleasant as humanly possible. Unfortunately, as of this writing, Balance is not quite there. But with a some good work on the UX, I sincerely hope they get it there, because it could be amazing.

Freezes

This is the first time opening it. I am forced to create an activity, which I did, then the Tool Tip moved to the Calendar icon and froze. I tried clicking on the Calendar, nothing. I tried clicking the Skip in the upper right corner, nothing. I tried every icon and couldn’t do anything. I had to quit the app. Then I opened it back up and it immediately opened the Tool tip that pointed to the plus to created an activity. I couldn’t skip, I couldn't select another option. I was forced to click to create an activity, then click that window closed. I am just testing it out and I wanted to check the settings. I was able to go in and modify the settings, then I clicked Calendars, which was fine, I then clicked on note, the Tool Tip came up and again it froze, I couldn’t click Skip, or close it or anything. I had to quit the program again. I understand that this is a new updated version of Balance, but it is incredibly glitchy. It should allow me to navigate around it without being forced to do something or needing to quit the and restart it in order to bypass steps. It appears you put a Skip option in the upper corner, but it doesn’t work on any of the pages. I will update my feedback if this gets fixed.

Let me start off by saying I struggle with severe mental health issues as well as ADHD. I’ve struggled for years trying to organise my life and better myself. Recently I went on a binge of downloading just about every organisation app in the AppStore. I tried several but everything fell through. I started using the Moleskein studio and I love it. I don’t need flow, it’s not for me, but i was looking for apps more habit based and came across this. I downloaded both this and journey and oh man. This has made an INSANE difference to my life. I’m able to balance my work, school, personal life and create new habits and goals. Actions, Timepage, Journey and Balance have been a huge change to my life and Ive only just started using them. The only reason I won’t give it 4 stars is the sync and compatibility. Please add balance and journey to the moleskein studio, it would make tracking payments easier. I wish that they would sync across all apps. When I look into actions, I wish there was a reminder about a habit or goal I have on balance. I wish they all connected, it would make everything so much easier. Additionally I don’t use Mac, i will never use Mac. Please please please create some alternative form of Timepage or Actions available for PC. I work more on my computer and would love to have my main Callander (Timepage) sync to my computer too. So far so good.

Update is solid but lacking features

Planner Update Review: This has great potential I love the sleek new design and the Weekly view is a killer feature. I really like how I can configure that in several ways to my liking, and I love the integration of the Timepage aesthetic, which has long been one of the reasons I gravitate toward Moleskine apps -- they're beautiful. However, I think there are a couple things missing here: 1 - There is no emphasis on long-term planning. Intentions can be used as a project board as a workaround, but it feels like there really needs to be some sort of "Projects" or "Areas" layer to this. Apple Reminders import also can be a long-term planning workaround, but I feel like for a premium app this should be built-in. 2 - Lack of widgets is currently a killer. One of my favorite features of any reminder app is having a lock screen widget where I can simply pull up my phone and be quickly reminded visually of what I'm supposed to be doing. Getting rid of the widgets / Live activity functionality Balance previously had is something that is a pain point currently. I hope those return soon

What's New: - Show all-day activities expanded and listed above scheduled ones, with a quick add button. Perfect if your focus is more on what to do rather than when to do it. You can enable it in the daily view options. - Display preferences: we added several options to customize the experience to suit your needs. Choose which view opens by default, set a preset color for new tasks, or make activities all-day by default when creating them.
