I am representing a conversation that I had with your representative Lena. I am new to the program of we Govee and I’m 86 and I’m computer impaired I was very frustrated with trying to get all the sign ups I had to do to become a part of this program. Lena was compassionate. She was patient. She spent an hour and a half with me while I got everything connected and apply application done ready for the program I would’ve quit. I was so frustrated but Lena was very encouraging. She kept saying we’re not gonna quit. We’re not gonna stop. We’re gonna get this done and we can do it. I can’t tell you how impressive she was and how patient she was and what a good job she did. I’ve lived a long life and seen a lot of employees and she’s outstanding in my mind as far as commitment And caring about what she’s doing. She’s a real keeper thank you for hiring her and making her available to me because I will call her back when I get into a situation that I need Computer Help to get me through the program. My name is Libby Downey. I’m from Monterey California. I’ve been an elected official for 18 years so I’ve been around the block and communicated with lots of different people thank you for this opportunity.

I just wanted to say that Lena took her time to help me with getting my medication list corrected and the medication in the app correctly. I was having problems with the bedtime medication NOT staying there. I had made a couple of calls prior and the information was not told to me correctly and my bed medication was gone again. So today I called and Lena was awesome! We talked for almost an hour trying to put medications in the right way and then we tried SEVERAL TIMES to link and sync my blood pressure unit, it’s paired but wouldn’t sync!She(Lena) took her time, we tried everything from WiFi changing to different places in the app to sync the unit. She is extremely professional, kind, and helpful. The BP unit is not a 1700 and that’s why, I think it won’t sync. Thank you Lena for all your help, Tina Whitson

Incredibly invasive and demeaning

CVS is requiring me to use this app to maintain access to a med that I have been on for 3 years and that has worked incredibly well for me, as documented by significant weight loss sustained over a long period and good labs. But now, after I have lost the weight, I am suddenly being forced to jump through hoops to maintain coverage. I do not believe for a second that CVS is doing this for anyone’s benefit but their own. Their goal is very likely to reduce the number of patients on GLP-1 meds since not everyone is going to be willing or able to comply with this asinine requirement. Also, most people who have struggled with obesity throughout their life already know quite a lot about nutrition. It is insulting to patients’ intelligence to have to do very basic education modules such as “what is a calorie?” Also, their initial assessment requires you to pick a new dietary plan , with only four options. I have no desire or need to change anything since what I am already doing is clearly working for me. I shouldn’t have to meet with a CVS lackey just to maintain access to a med that is clearly working well for me, on top of paying an increased premium and increased copays this year.

More difficult than it needs to be

Everything is more difficult than it should be. It feels like you have to jump through a million stupid hoops to even find the information you’re looking for. The app is cluttered and constantly trying to pull your attention to random quizzes, assessments, courses, etc. And its main purpose — connecting you with someone from their care team — is made near-impossible. Beforehand, I received two different Zoom links, neither of which worked. One required a passcode (which I wasn’t given) and the other was constantly “waiting for the host to start the meeting.” They eventually cancelled my appointment, despite me being on the phone with support trying to get connected. I was told I had to use the Zoom app on my *phone* not a computer — but nowhere in my appointment reminder or instructions did I receive that information. I use Zoom every day for work on my laptop so having to use it on my phone is extremely annoying and makes no sense. This also means a large portion of the population without smartphones are excluded from accessing this type of care.

Use Statement
The diabetes management function of Health Optimizer™ is indicated for use by healthcare providers (HCPs) and their patients – aged 18 years and older – who have type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Health Optimizer is intended to provide secure capture, storage, and transmission of blood glucose data as well as information to aid in diabetes self-management. Health Optimizer analyzes and reports blood glucose test results and supports medication adherence. In addition, Health Optimizer provides coaching messages (motivational, behavioral, and educational) based on real-time blood glucose values and trends. It includes software intended for use on mobile phones or personal computers in the home or in professional healthcare settings. The software also allows for entry of other diabetes-related healthcare information and provides educational information.

Health Optimizer is not intended to replace the care provided by a licensed healthcare professional, including prescriptions, diagnosis, or treatment.

Safety Information
Contraindications:
Health Optimizer is not indicated for people with gestational diabetes or who use an insulin pump.

Warnings:
• For medical questions, please contact your health care provider.
• If you are experiencing an emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
• Dosing decisions should not be made based on this device. The user should follow instructions on the continuous glucose monitoring system. This (CGM) device is not intended to replace self-monitoring practices advised by a physician.
• If you enter a low blood glucose (less than 70 mg/dL), Health Optimizer will provide in-the-moment coaching to treat your low blood glucose. Health Optimizer will also set a 15-minute timer to remind you to recheck your blood glucose after treating the low.
• If you enter a high blood glucose (over 300 mg/dL), Health Optimizer will provide in-the-moment coaching to treat your high blood glucose. Health Optimizer will also ask you to set a 3-hour timer to remind you to check your blood glucose again.
• Health Optimizer is not designed to diagnose or treat specific medical disorders or mental health conditions, such as, a major depressive disorder, a sleep disorder like obstructive sleep apnea, an anxiety disorder and/or addictions to drugs or alcohol. Individuals with these conditions should seek help from a licensed healthcare professional

Cautions:
• Health Optimizer is designed to work with glucose results reported in mg/dL and cannot safely be used with mmol/L values. To avoid harm please ensure that any glucose meter used with Health Optimizer is set for blood glucose values in mg/dL.
• To help prevent others from accessing your data or settings, always use a passcode or the biometrics (fingerprint or image of your face) to unlock your mobile device. Do not leave your mobile device in an area that can be accessed by others.
• Make sure you know which Bluetooth device you are pairing with your smart device.
• To ensure that data from your devices (e.g., blood glucose meter) are sent wirelessly to the Health Optimizer app, you must first pair your device and the Health Optimizer app.
