The app is quite basic and simple to use making it a snap to setup quickly. As they update, in the future, it would be nice to have a slideshow option to display multiple pics instead of just one when not in use.

If you’re downloading this app, you’re obviously likely going to own, or are considering owning a Tuneshine. I would give the device itself 5 stars. It looks amazing in person, and the concept of an automatic album artwork frame is so cool to me. It’s something I’ve thought about as an idea, but this thing actually brings it to life, which is dope. I do really like my purchase overall, but there are a few glaring software features that are lacking in their app. Especially for other light/pixel displays like this one. I would really like for there to be a way to set a custom image to the device, for when you are not playing music. Or even just a feature that allows for the “timeout” (a few minutes after you pause the music on your phone) on the display to be extended for a longer/infinite amount of time so that it continues to display it’s most recently displayed image, rather than the app’s 3 current preset options, which are either to have it be fully off, have a small light emit at the bottom, or lastly, have a gray to black gradient effect. The device also seems to have syncing issues when it comes to streaming/air playing to another apple device like a HomePod or an Apple TV. Or when playing music from one of those devices directly. There seems to be random times where it won’t change the album artwork if my phone is on shuffle, but if I go back into Apple Music and tap on the song, it syncs up again. Just for clarity, I don’t want to totally dunk on the device, but I would be much happier if these features could be implemented/improved upon. I would change my review to 5 stars if they were!

Tuneshine has a sleek and creative display and it lets me engage with my music in a new and fun way. It’s interface is simple and it is easy to use. Guests love Tuneshine and ask about it. I think it’s partially because you can’t find a product these days that doesn’t do 100 things—to varying degrees of success. Tuneshine does one thing. And it does it extremely well. Easy call. Buy this product.

First, you need to purchase a hardware to go along with this but it’s a very very cool lo-fi LED hardware gadget to show album arts or a picture of your choosing. The creator is a very active one-man shop making stuff in US by hand. That alone makes it very unique. Yes it’s not a necessity. Nothing. To argue there, if you find the concept cool and is pondering, it’s good quality stuff for what it does.
