I loved pbs as a kid and still love it to this day. This is an amazing app because it brings with it old childhood memory’s. In the future I hope we keep pbs around with enough donations. Because I would extremely like it for my kids in the future as long as it doesn’t become some way of trying to manipulate my children through the shows. Please always keep it the same. Besides that I find pbs great because I have had conversations with other “adults” who are to “mature” for the shows 😂 and have found that pbs has taught me things the most adults don’t know, but here is the thing. I gave the app a four star because it doesn’t seem to be as organized as it could be. I like the individual tabs that show the shows and main characters. When you click on them though most of the episodes cut out before the show ends or begins or even in the middle sometimes like not all of the episode is there? Also it would be cool if we could just get all seasons and episodes all in chronological order like. Season 1 episode 1,2,3 and so on. That way the viewers can choose or pick favorite episodes for there kids. Or make it so you could bundle all your favorites together. I am so glad you guys have cyberspace and Clifford and many others on here. Coming from a viewer like me. Thank you! For creating such a good education program for kids. One of my favorites is Sid the science kid!
Ui oversimplification

We really appreciate the PBS kids app for consistently working to not only provide but also regularly update their massive library of children’s programming while maintaining it free for everyone. We love being able to watch educational shows that showcase the variety of cultures, languages, abilities, and experiences of the world around us. That being said, we find the removal of the Spanish language toggle in the show options has made it a more frustrating user experience as we now have to go to each individual episode to check for Spanish audio availability. As a family that wants to expose our children to different languages, we found the previous version of the app extremely helpful. If future updates could take this into consideration it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much for all the work you do in continuing to provide accessible and thoughtful children’s programming, especially in today’s media landscape overrun with ai slop and low effort content.
Update Leaves a Lot to be Desired

This is one of the few streaming apps we have to use directly from our phones, since our Samsung TV’s App Store interface is so bad that we can’t even search to find if there is a version of this app available there. Therefore, we have to use AirPlay to stream the content to the TV. This update took an already-buggy AirPlay experience and made it so much worse. On opening the app, it starts autoplaying (not new but still frustrating: please add a setting to disable that!). You cannot pause the video without tapping the video preview which then goes to a full screen mode. If you exit that mode back to the app, it begins playing again! If you then navigate to a show and begin playing a video on AirPlay, you, again, are in a full-screen mode and exiting it (or navigating away from the app) pauses the video again and/or begins playing something else. Lastly, the AirPlay controls on the Lock Screen seem to have disappeared altogether. The new update is beautiful and the old app did need a refresh, but there are so many bugs to be addressed around playback. I know this was built to be “kid-oriented” but with no ability for parents to control the experience their kids see, the promise falls short. Please add settings to disable auto-play, filter which shows kids can watch, and fix the AirPlay experience!
Developer Response
Hi, Thank you for reporting this issue about AirPlay! We are looking into the fix and hope to have it working again soon. If you reach out to help@pbs.org, we can let you know when we resolve this bug. Thank you for your patience. Best - the PBS KIDS teamUpdate 7/7/25: our recent release, v.7.0.2 improves our AirPlay support. Users should now be able to exit and navigate the app while video continues to play remotely via AirPlay. Users can initiate AirPlay from the video player or the iOS Control Center. Once connected, your mobile device should stay connected to AirPlay until you stop the connection. To select a new video, simply navigate the app as normal and tap any video thumbnail to begin playback via AirPlay.
