HOW TO USE A+ SPELLING TEST?
1. Create a test
1.1. Choose the list name
1.2. Add words - words are immediately checked for spelling to avoid mistakes
1.3. For each word you add, record your own audio - a kids favorite
2. Take a test
2.1. Listen to the word you need to spell - words appear in random order
2.2. Write the word and click next
2.3. Instantly see if you got it right or wrong
3. Review test scores
3.1 Each time you take a test, you see a detailed report with all the words you got right and wrong.
3.2 Next to each word, you see a green (correct) or red (wrong) indicator so you can quickly see what words kids tend to struggle with repeatedly.
3.3 Next to each Spelling List you see the test results of the last test they took
ADVANCED OPTIONS
Ace it - Instead of taking a regular test, when you click to "Ace it" you have to keep repeating words until you spell them correctly. Since feedback and repetition is the best way to learn, your kids will improve even faster and enjoy it because by the end they will have aced every test!
Practice - The practice mode does not track your score and offers a quick preview of each word when needed with just one click. Its a fun and easy way to get familiar with especially challenging new words.
Unscramble - The unscramble mode activates and develops a completely different part of your brain. Instead of instantly hearing the word and having to spell it, you see a scramble of letters and have to figure out what word they are for. It's fun and another great way to sharpen your kids spelling skills
Review mistakes - With each test you took, you can choose to quickly just retest any / all mistakes. In addition, on the main page, you can always click to review all the words that were misspelled on their last attempt.
Enhanced email submission - Can't remember your kids teachers email? No problem. Enter it only once on the settings page and each time you click to email out the test, the teacher's email address will be pre-filled in the TO field.
Clear Test Scores - at any time, you can delete all previous test scores from the settings page with one click or delete individual test scores one at a time.

My daughter is in the first grade and really struggles with spelling. Since the beginning of school she has not gotten more than three out of 10 words correct each week and we practiced a lot, so I was super frustrated. I stumbled across this app while searching for other apps to help her. She used this app all week and I still worked with her, but I hope you’ll be as excited as I am when I report she got 9 out of 10 words correct this week. Her teacher was so thrilled when I told her about this app, she handing out the name of this app to all her students parents along with sharing with other teachers. She extremely excited that you can record the word. She thinks it will be extremely helpful with her Spanish-speaking students. The reason I only gave it four stars was because, I think it could be a little more kid friendly. Maybe more colors, a chance to earn stickers or other awards for doing a good job, and a few more games. One thing I think that could be beneficial is a function that helps with homophones. For example, if the child has the word weight and wait they can help identify with a picture or something. I understand there’s apps out there for this already, but it would be nice to have everything in one central location.I’m so excited about this app, I’m upgrading to the $2.99 version, thankful it’s not like other apps charging over $30.

I had this app on my daughters iPad and we loved it for all of her spelling words. It really helped her, and it helped me to know where she needed more help.She was given my husband’s iPad as a gift so we immediately went to the App Store to get this app again. Now it’s not working correctly. When we record the word, it doesn’t play back. I’ve tried removing the app and adding it again, I’ve tried using headphones thinking the iPad just wasn’t picking up my voice, there’s no sound options in the settings gear. So now we have to maintain both devices so she can study her spelling words on her old iPad that isn’t going to last much longer.The only reason I gave 2 stars is because it worked great on her old iPad. But I’m disappointed we can’t integrate all of her favorite apps onto the new iPad.

My son was having trouble with spelling. When I tried working with him it would cause frustration and end up not being helpful. I stumbled across this app and it has turned his F into an A. He is in 2nd grade, but the nice thing about this app is that it could be used for ANY grade level since you put in the spelling words. He runs through a “test” on here each day after school. Any words that he misses, he can just retake those words after looking them over. One thing I really like is that it keeps tally of which words he got right/wrong with each test. That means I can glance at the list and know which words he is struggling with. Then I can quiz him on just those two words in the car etc. Last night he was asking to practice his spelling words on here. It has really turned things around. I highly recommend this app for any parent trying to help their child with spelling, no matter their age.

I have been looking for this app a lot! I went on google forms at one point but none of them let me record my voice. I liked this a lot! Feedback time! I would love it if you could scan a piece of paper and have the words on it implemented to the spelling list. Then after you could go in and add your voice. It would make it a lot easier to use since I do spelling tests in different languages and with this it’s easier because you don’t have to write it down and have autocorrect bug u 😄 THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!
