Your planner remembers what you wrote. A dedicated Notes tab gives you notebooks, tags and search. Keep native notes that sync over iCloud, or connect a folder of plain markdown files, including your Obsidian vault, and edit them in place. Tasks inside your markdown files become real Finalist tasks: dated, tagged and checkable anywhere in the app.
YOUR DAY, ON YOUR WRIST
The Apple Watch app puts your whole day one glance away: events, tasks, reminders and habits in one scrollable view, topped by a Now card that always knows what matters next. Check off pinned lists from the wrist, grocery list included, and add tasks by keyboard, scribble or dictation. Complications and a Smart Stack widget round it out. (Requires watchOS 26.)
DESIGN YOUR DAY
Choose between two Daily designs: Daybook, the classic stacked layout, or Broadsheet, a newsprint-inspired look that shines on iPad and Mac. Rearrange sections with the layout editor and save your own presets. On the rebuilt Timeline, drag tasks onto the grid to sketch your day in pencil, then commit when it's real.

more I’ve explored quite a few calendar and planner apps, especially those with a classic calendar look. Lately, I’ve been drawn to agenda-style planners, so I was thrilled to check out Finalist. After a couple months of use it’s become my go to app. I can confidently say Finalist strikes the perfect balance. The main reason I found this app was for a habit streak tracker. But I’m so glad I found an app as functional and well-displayed as this one. I very much enjoy the view and interface of the main daily page. I also love being able to add photos and daily goals on top of habit tracking. I use the Apple heal to connect how many hours of sleep I got. It’s truly a nicely functional command center for a visual spatial person like myself, while being not too busy and not to overwhelming because you only see the parts you use. I love it.

Finalist 3.7 was born from a month of travel. Coordinating across timezones, pinning memories to places, checking weather in cities ahead. This update brings all of that into your planner: a World Clock that lives right in your Daily view, photo stamps that remember where you were, and a new Layout system that lets you arrange your day exactly the way you want it.
World Clock
- Add cities to your Daily view as compact timezone stamps
- Search for any city and get both its timezone and live weather
- Tap a clock to see your entire Daily tab in that timezone
- Tap the weather icon for an inline 10-day forecast

Finalist comes to the wrist. A Now card answers the day's current question, from your first moves in the morning to an evening wrap-up with streaks to protect.
