The referral department for Memorial Herman Katy is completely incompetent. I waited 6 months to get in to see a Neuro and the Dr. needed the referral sent over again. I called the referral department and they had no record of the referral and said they switched systems and I had to contact the Dr (my PCP) to get it sent through again and then she hung up on me. My appointment with the specialist was the following day. It takes more than a week to get a referral processed and more than a week to get a medication refilled at this point. I spoke to the Office Manager who found the referral to Dr. Diaz (referral dept had no record of it) that had been processed 6 months ago, when it was originally requested and submitted and she sent it over to the Dr and I had my appointment. Today, I received a new referral to a different Neuro which is completely incorrect. Cant reach referral department supervisor or Dr. Office manager. Both unavailable. The notes in the system have the correct Dr for the referral but the referral department does not read! This should have been resolved last week when I spoke to the Office Manager, but it continues to be an issue and now there is a referral in the system to the wrong Neuro Dr. And I have an upcoming follow up with the correct Dr., Dr. Jose Diaz, on the 26th of August, 2024. This is completely unacceptable, completely stressful, and shows complete incompetence. Your departments do not know how to communicate with one another!
