TAG Updater is a dedicated app for Yamaha's TransAcoustic guitars TAG3 C/TAS3 C. You can transfer 10 demo loop phrases to the target model and expand the looper function. The transferred demo loop phrases can be played back and overdubbed by the guitar operation. In order to expand the functionality, you need to update another app, TAG Remote, and the guitar.

Yamaha, please test your apps before you post them. I was looking forward to this new looping feature but like everyone else it fails miserably. 👎

As other reviewers mentioned, the update failed. I tried it a second time and sat next to the guitar during the update, pushing in one of the knobs every couple minutes to keep it awake. I also set my phone to not auto-lock. Update completed successfully. It was actually worth the minor inconvenience. You get ten pre-recorded loops that you can practice or play along with. I’ve always been happy with Yamaha’s products. I’m sure this app will eventually get a fix so it will work properly without the extra help.

I’ve tried 6 times to update my guitar and it fails every time. Takes me back to the experience of updating my computer in the late 90s.
