Lists and pages now fade out softly where they scroll under an edge, instead of ending on a hard cut. Turn the phone sideways and the text stays clear of the camera cutout. On Android the app opens straight into its own colours, with no white flash on the way in.

You can now get a heads-up when something big goes wrong on the network. Service alerts stay off until you switch them on, they are rare, and they need no account: just a short notice in your language. Turn them on or off any time in Settings. Appearance is back to three choices: Daylight, Light, Dark. Daylight is the new one: the app is light between sunrise and sunset and dark the rest of the time, worked out from the real position of the sun rather than a fixed hour, so it stays right all year. Open it after the sun has moved and you will see it change, starting on the look you left and travelling across in one slow crossing, photo and colours together. Dark mode is also a softer charcoal instead of near black.

Under the hood this time. Searches no longer hang when the timetable service is slow: the app gives up on a stalled request and falls back to your saved results. It also sends crash reports automatically, so problems get fixed faster, plus anonymous usage stats so we know which features deserve more work. That data stays anonymous and is never sold.
