Lunaday: Moon Phase Calendar

Stargazing, tides & widgets

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Partial solar eclipse on Aug 12 — total over Greenland, Iceland and Spain — with the Perseids peaking the same night. Lunaday shows your dark-sky window. Lunaday shows tonight's moon phase, when the moon rises and sets, and the hours the sky is genuinely dark - then puts your plans on the calendar beside it. Every number is computed on your device from real astronomy. No horoscopes, no predictions, no account. TONIGHT AT A GLANCE - The real moon phase and % illuminated, drawn accurately for the date. - Moonrise and moonset, sunset and astronomical twilight. - Tonight's dark-sky window: the hours with no sun and no moon. PLAN BY THE SKY - Sky Planner (Lunaday+): a 30-day timeline that scores the best nights for what you do - stargazing on the darkest, moonless nights; bright-moon evening hikes; moonrise-at-sunset photography. - Sky events: named full moons, meteor-shower peaks and eclipses. The next three are free; a full year comes with Lunaday+. - Full moons, new moons and eclipses are badged directly on the month grid. - Tap any day to jump there and add an event. - Natural language: type "stargaze on the next new moon" and Lunaday finds the date. WIDGETS - Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets showing the current phase, illumination, and a countdown to the next new or full moon. TIDES (WORLDWIDE, OFFLINE) - High and low water for 3,100+ tide gauges in 116 countries, computed on your device from published harmonic constants - no signal required. - In the United States, Lunaday shows NOAA's official published predictions instead. - Live wave height, period and water temperature from the nearest NOAA buoy (Lunaday+, U.S. waters only). - Tides need a gauge near you. The card always names the gauge and how far away it is, and computed times are planner-grade, not a navigation tide table. HONEST BY DESIGN - Lunaday leads with real, on-device astronomy. Optional traditional almanac notes - like full-moon folk names - are clearly labeled as folklore, not science. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT - No accounts, no tracking, no analytics. Your calendar stays on your device. The network is used only to fetch public NOAA tide and buoy data, and to turn your location into a place name. LUNADAY+ Lunaday+ is a one-time purchase - yours forever, no subscription. It unlocks the full 30-day Sky Planner, a year of sky events, live swell and water temperature, Siri Shortcuts, and calendar options (16 calendar systems, custom start of week).
