We have used etisalat since we arrived in Dubai and yesterday was our third time renewing our phone plans. Unfortunately, yesterday experience was sadly disappointing due to the unprofessional , disrespectful behavior of your staff. First two times we need to pay 50Dhms for 2GB of data for each of our phones which totals 100. Last night , your staff , after processing our phones told us that 2GB will be 50 Dhms . Seconds after handing over her the cash she told us that we have 3dhms deducted from the balance that was just top up. She told us that we subscribed to something online but i am very sure i DID NOT subscribe for anything online via this phone. So after she told us that we need to top up minimum of another 50dhms to activate our internet data. As baffled and surprised as we were, we asked if she could kindly check again and that if there is anything she can do. But as unprofessional as she were, lacking empathy she just said we either top up with her or go line up at the machine. I am raising this case not because we had to pay 10 dhans more at the machine but due to her attitude, the way she was unprofessional and lack of customer service. Thank you

Updating Emirates ID is a painful process

If you try to change the expiry date of your Emirates ID manually, the Emirates App does not allow you to activate the keyboard to backspace and erase numbers. The App placed a date in that field so it would be logical to allow backspacing to correct the date. Instead, you need to search for a blue highlighted date prompt in the lower left hand of the screen. It is barely visible. This is a clear App design error. A client should be able to back space to correct errors.

The Etisalat phone number for assistance is not only poor in menu options, it is even poorer when it comes to asking for technical assistance. Some update took place without prior notice, typical for Etisalat with poor communication skills, my elife menu stopped working upon return in Dubai. Basically the entire settings can’t be selected from the remote control that is brand new. The customer support service doesn’t answer while waiting for hours. Even after several attempts, no access can be gained and the app doesn’t recognize my account that has been there for 15 years. I have only option left which is to visit a store which is even worse when it comes to ‘support’. If only competition could be granted so poor performing companies like Etisalat, would be replaced by competent ones who know how to set up a proper customer support system.
