The frozen classic returns. Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition honors the D&D adventure with modern refinements, letting you journey through the icy Spine of the World.
This game is optimized for tablets and not recommended for phones with screen sizes under 7 inches.
Far beyond the warmth of civilization lies Icewind Dale, a stark and unforgiving stretch of land where only the hardiest souls endure. Journey deep into the Spine of the World, a land of snow‑shrouded peaks and ancient dangers, where beasts grow cunning to survive the endless winter.
Beneath the carved glaciers, a sinister force gathers strength—an evil whose schemes threaten to spill destruction across the face of Faerûn. This is the world of Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition, a classic Dungeons & Dragons adventure reborn for a new age of heroes.

Love this game but script problems made a character useless
jrh007
I love playing this game particularly on my iPad. However, about three chapters in, my thief stopped wanting to use his bow from a distance and standard charging mobs before he would fire an arrow, making him basically useless. I tried changing his script and that would fix it either. This is mentioned as a bug in the computer version but, since it is iPad, there’s no way to manually fix a character script. Please fix this melee bow bug.
Must Play!!! One of the Greatest Classics Ever!

I am obsessed with dungeons and dragons lately and this game is the perfect fix. I even prefer my iPad version over my console version, although the original PC is still the best version. This version is streamlined for mobile and they did a good job with it. I love coming up with different party scenarios to try and then making a run thru the game. Even though I have most everything memorized by now there's still something so comforting about these games, including Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, etc. I never get bored or tire of these games and it's a must they remain on my tablet. I highly recommend any of these games.
No way to rotate party formation

I was really excited to get started, but my heart sank when I found out there’s no way to set the facing of your party formation when moving. In the original you could accomplish this using right click + hold to move. On iOS right click is long press, but a long press + hold pans the camera instead.Setting the facing of your party is extremely important for tactics and for navigating tight spaces. Without a way to do this quickly, the only way is to move each character individual—very cumbersome for a 6 man party.Because of this lack of just one feature I can’t give it more than 2 stars. It is that important. I’d rather lose the ability to zoom the camera than to lose the ability to easily set party facing
A Few Issues Still

The toggle for the highest difficulty mode, Heart of Fury, is still broken and has been as long as I’ve had this game. It does not matter how many times you put it on this difficulty level, it will reset to the next difficulty lower than this each time you reload the game. It also does not always take place immediately, you have to pass through a zone for the difficulty to change after you flip it back. This is a real pain in the rear. In addition, it sure would be nice to have the ability to add custom portraits on iOS like Baldurs Gate or Neverwinter nights. The number of portraits that come with the game is pretty limited.
Developer Response
Thanks! We'll soon start testing the next (2.6) patch for mobiles.
Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition 2.7 patch improves the overall quality-of-life experience, bringing new languages, smoother mobile UI, restored iOS purchase syncing, easier mobile modding & file transferring, and more. The game is now compatible with PC and Android versions for Multiplayer.
Patch Highlights:
New localizations — We added the following community-translated languages to the game: Hungarian and Japanese.
iOS Modding now supported — The game now stores and reads data from a location visible to standard file browsers. You can manage saves and other files directly on your device or by connecting it to a computer:
On iOS: Open the Files app → navigate to On My device → find the game’s folder;
The home:/ directory is now user-accessible;
You can transfer saves, character portraits, and other files (mods) between different devices.
Mobile Keyboard Improvements — The UI now shifts so the text cursor remains visible above the virtual keyboard, preventing cursor loss and mis‑registered taps on iOS.
Dynamic language support — We made changes to allow easier language updates and additions in the future.
Chinese font change — At the request of the Chinese localization volunteers, we have changed the font for Chinese.
Font Size saved per font language — The Font Size zoom setting is now saved per font language.
Indexing Fix — Resolved an off‑by‑one error in rebuilt BIF files that affected some community tools.
