My Well-being

I use the app daily to make changes to my hearing aids and when they added the My Wellbeing tab I would sometimes check this a few times a day; after a walk to see how many steps and again at the end of the day to see totals. After the most recent update to the app, if I check the My Wellbeing tab midday, it will not update later in the day. I tried going into the chat on the app and that was of no use with this issue.

Frustrated

App is the weak point of Signia

App is a crap pot of problems (1) It is unstable…. Sometimes dual volume controls disappear even though both hearing aids are connected; (2) Sometimes the “balance” control disappears…. And what a stupid name…. “Balance” in audio vernacular connotates “ Left/Right” balance. It should be labeled “Tonal Quality”. (3) But either way, it is inadequate. Why? Because it seems to manipulate high & low frequencies, but provides little or no access to boost or attenuate mid range frequencies which dominate voice recognition. This reflects a complete disrespect for customers.. as you seem to assume we are too stupid to manually adjust a simple equalizer that had Low-High & Midrange sliders. I really wanted to complete the purchase of these Signias because the signal processing seemed better than a key competitor, but alas…. The Signia App instability and lack of mid range frequency controls have killed the deal. Do the programmers that write this crap ever try to live with this deficient control app? Very sad indeed.

Thanks for contacting us with your inquiry. We have submitted feature requests for a more robust sound balance control so you're not alone in that thought and we hope future iterations of the app will provide more flexibility for the end users. As for the dual volume sliders, those will only appear along with the option to combine/separate them if the app is fully connected via Bluetooth (check the Bluetooth symbol in the top right of the app for the Bluetooth connection status). Without a Bluetooth connection, the app can still make basic remote control changes to the hearing aids (e.g. volume of both hearing aids together, sound balance, etc.) through a backup means of communication that isn't Bluetooth. If you want to troubleshoot the Bluetooth connectivity between the iPhone and hearing aids (this is what the app relies on for connection within the app), please tap on the 3 lines in the top left of the app > Settings > Help > Contact Us and send our support team an email so we can send your more detailed steps to make sure everything is fully connected.

Compression is not feasible!

I have a pair of new Signia 7AX ITE hearing aids for the record.
I wholeheartedly agree with previous reviews of the controls available to the users yet alone tying the hands of the professional AuD by not allowing them to adjust certain protocols such as your bad compression algorithm.
I literally dislike your compression and as you suggested to others about setting issues I did go to my AuD. With his inability to adjust attack and duration of release because the software you set them up with, he can not adjust this feature.
So with no control of this compression feature, I told him then turn it off. As you already know, he cannot because your software doesn’t give even him ”the professional AuD” the ability to do so.
So stop telling folks to go see your AuD and they can program the hearing aids as needed.
THEY CAN’T! You simply do not give them the ability to do so!

Yes, I would like my personal setting to stay as I programmed them and return to the same when turning them back on.

There are many knowledgeable folks out there wearing your hearing aid and are versed in audio, be it Amateur radio, musician or stereo enthusiast. Give us and the pro AuD a break and give them more control to satisfy us your customers.

Developer Response ,

Hello. Thanks for the detailed review. I suggest that you go back to your audiologist and have them call into our Audiology team for assistance programming. The compression settings you are referring to are adjustable in the programming software if the fitting formula used to fit your hearing aids is set to a traditional formula rather than the proprietary one. With the proprietary formula, those compressions settings are locked as they are preset to ensure that the technology in the hearing aids are used to their fullest capabilities. However, there are many audiologists out there who still prefer fitting with traditional formulas as they like to tweak the aforementioned settings. Hopefully, with this small change, you can work together with your audiologist to achieve the sound you prefer.

Since hearing aids are categorized as a medical device, there are restrictions on how much access the end user has to adjusting the settings of the hearing aids. Nevertheless, we do appreciate your feedback regarding more advanced controls and will take that into consideration for future app development.
