I’ve had Apple routers that worked seemlessly. Before that I trusted linksys, and they worked well and were very reliable. But since Apple stopped manufacturing routers , I read many reviews, and I believe that limksys makes an inferior product in comparison to this one. It was plug and play from the get go. And it has software that allows you to monitor who is logger on to your network. I’ve had this for about 4 months, and have been very impressed. It has been totally reliable- no issues whatsoever, and it has good range. The only issue I have is with the software, when you look at devices connected to the local network you may need to look up ip addresses to to name each individual device. This is tedious and no fun. I’m not aware of other routers that can auto populate which devices are which (like iphone 15, or hp printer, etc. ) But other than that, I’m very pleased and would highly recommend this router.

I don’t usually write reviews but wanted to share my thoughts on this app compared to using the website control panel. I personally don’t like that it’s not a 1 to 1 toggle of the settings. In other words, not all the settings/features on the website control are on the Tether app, making it inconsistent and inconvenient to some extent. For starters, the Tether app doesn’t allow you to block keywords in URLs, it only allows you to block specific URLs, whereas the website allows for both. The app will show the keywords but you can’t add any - inconsistent design. It would be more convenient for users of the Tether app to allow for us to also use keywords just like the website. Some features I’d like to see - add a Web Filter to block AI sites, especially AI Chat bots; allow for domain name blocking, ie. adding .ai or *.ai to a block website list will block all websites with .ai in the domain - perhaps a workaround would be to add “ai” in the keywords/block list; another feature I’d like to see is adding/including a global block/approved website/keyword list and not ONLY restrict it to just certain profiles and devices on those profiles - so that ANY device that has connected to my network, like a guest or otherwise, has limited access to certain sites without me having to go in the app, finding their MAC address, add to a “guest” profile, etc. I also think the app needs a toggle for “dark” mode and bright mode - I think the app is TOO white and needs the option of a dark mode.

I really like the features and functionality of being able to see devices, locating repeater feature, and several others. However, it doesn’t have / utilize “Face Id” and every time I login the app rejects my password, no matter what I do as far as retyyor changing, it rejects them and threatens to lock app for 10 mins. VERY FRUSTRATING! Please get these bugs fixed as soon as possible. Lastly, the TP-Link AX-3000 repeater has worked great so far during the past initial use of 2 weeks! It offers 2.4G & 5G at the same time and it looks like the equipment that links up pics the band it needs.As far as the installation, download this APP and follow instructions, just that EASY! I needed this product boost my WIFI signal from my home to my guest house that is approx. 40 ft. away from my garage which is the closest point to position repeater that has a 110vAC outlet. I get a full set of bars on 2.4G and 3 bars on 5G signal. No buffering on 2 TVs, 1 computer, and 2 cellphones while also allowing additional equipment in my main home to access this repeater. AGAIN, so far it is working perfectly! Just get a couple of the items I mentioned earlier and it will earn 5 stars. Current price is reasonable given the service expectations met.

It’s adequate, but could use more customization features, and some functions don’t yet seem fully developed. Needs a built-in Speedtest so you can check your ISP speeds independently of Wi-Fi signal strength of each connected device or traffic on the LAN. The Linksys app has that function which is very useful. Also needs a signal strength indicator for each wireless device connected. There’s currently no way to check if the signal strength is strong enough or if the device or the antennas on the router need to be moved or reoriented. And the devices section also doesn’t have enough different icons for all the various wireless or wired items that can be connected these days beyond just phones, tablets, desktops, laptops, etc. Again, I refer you to the Linksys app. Also, hard to know which devices are which when doing initial setup as the app doesn’t always register the actual device names but in some cases just returns an * or the device’s MAC address which then has to be interpreted before you can rename it. Again, the Linksys app provides much more thorough info. The download/upload reading of packets has never shown anything other that 0kbps so it seems useless. There are also some functions, even after binding the app with my TP-Link account that remain greyed out. Hopefully these with provide further functionality at some point in the future. Fortunately the router hardware is good enough that I can overlook many of the app’s shortcomings. And doing a firmware upgrade was painless so that is a big plus. But still needs some work, and I’m not even a high-end user. I’m sure some of the networking pros have more demands from such an app.
