Our app provides a secure and easy way to bank on the go.
Existing customer? Follow the prompts to login with your customer number and internet banking password.
New to Bank Australia? Download the app to register as a customer and open selected accounts directly.

A few things to remember
• Don’t keep your customer number and PIN with your mobile device.
• Make sure to log out when you’re done.
• The app will auto log out after five minutes of no activity.
• Contact Bank Australia immediately if you’ve lost your device or feel that someone may know your login details.
• Please check the BSB and account number or PayID details carefully.
Bank Australia does not verify or confirm that the details you provided are correct, or that the account name and number or PayID match.
If the details are incorrect you could be paying the wrong account and you may not be able to get your money back.

Bank Australia App

I am so happy with the Bank Australia App as I use to log on through my browser. I added the App to my phone after I spoke to Jan at Bank Australia after all my data had been stolen through the Optus breach. Last week checking my bank accounts through the app there was an attempt by someone who tried and had set up a transfer of US$ from my savings account which was to go through on the 15th of October. I immediately contacted Bank Australia and they cancelled my Visa Debit Card and luckily for me I had no funds stolen. The difference between using the App and logging on through internet browser is that I could see what was happening on the App but had no idea through internet browser that this was going to occur.

Functional but lacks certain quality of life features.

The new placement of the Home Screen button is excellent. And having a persistent log out button is perfect.

If the transaction notifications worked all the time and were customisable (e.g. Show current balance after purchasing an item) I would give five stars.

Other than that just some visual stuff like changing home photo and maybe decluttering menus. But that’s more luxury stuff.

New customer here coming from Commbank/Up Bank.

The app is functional, shows balances and makes internet banking easily accessible. Minimum functionality is absolutely met.

However, transaction notifications are iffy. Not only did I have to dig to find the option to turn these on, most other banks offer instant notifications for transactions, however sometimes the notifications are late, or don’t come at all.

Also a lack of personalisation for the home screen. Allow us to pick our own backdrop for the Home Screen and or colour scheme. Also, the side menu is a bit clunky, and the animations are a tad bit dated.

Finally the balance button seems a little unneeded as the accounts button serves the same purpose. Just back navigating back to the dashboard after hitting accounts not require the left hand menu, much like the balance menu with the x in the middle.

Has everything you need but

The process to create and apply for joint accounts isn’t as innovative as it could be. For my situation I have refinanced to BA with my wife and for each joint account I need my wife to provide consent and confirmation. Which is fine it’s the process that needs refinement.

For context, we both work anywhere between 5 - 7 days a week. We both feel that this process could be more streamlined particularly for couples that are joint holders on a mortgage. Instead of having us call up and provide consent, could this not be an option to tick similar to the mortgage documents that require approval?

Otherwise, the app has everything else that you’d need. Love the colours!
